VANE MINERALS, A Cheaper And Lower Risk Route Into The Uranium Market. (VML)

goldfinger - 08 Mar 2005 09:20

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE..

COMPANY WEB SITE.........

http://www.vaneminerals.com/

THE PRICE OF URANIUM IS GOING BALISTIC...

The uranium spot price hasn't seen a down month since 2001. For years now, uranium producers have met just 60% of total annual demand - the other 40% coming from government stockpiles and decommissioned nuclear warheads. This can go on for only so long.

The tightness of supply comes at a time of atomic resurgence. Three large-scale factors have turned the tide in favour of nuclear energy:
geopolitics, global warming and developing world growth.

Analysts are debating over wether the SP of Uranium increase will be three fold within 2007?.

Looks like to me, the best play on the UK market for Uranium and it hasnt gotten away yet like the other two ZBA Zareba and URA Uranium which have multi bagged. Its also in a position to fund its development with a new gold mine producing. Ive added twice this morning and think this one could be very big. Heres the announcement...........

Vane Minerals PLC
07 March 2005

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

VANE Announces Diversification Into Uranium Exploration And Development

Vane Minerals ('VANE' or 'the Company') announces that it is diversifying its
current project portfolio by entering into the uranium exploration and
development business.

To date 7 uranium targets have been successfully claimed by the Company and 28
further properties have been identified and are under development. VANE expects
to finalise its property position by the end of the first quarter 2005. The
Company is targeting uranium projects that are either at, or near, resource
stage or targets that exhibit similar surface features to mines with past
production, but that have not yet been evaluated for the presence of uranium.

The 35 properties identified are located within a uranium district with
significant past production as well as significant resources. Due to the
current uranium market conditions, we prefer to not identify the location until
we complete our property position. Previous drilling data available for some of
the 7 properties successfully claimed indicate grade intersects from 0.34 up to
1.78% U3O8.

VANE has incorporated a 100% owned subsidiary to hold its uranium properties and
has also successfully recruited a uranium geologist, Kristopher K. Hefton B.Sc.,
who has considerable experience in this field and is a great addition to the
VANE team. Mr. Hefton has worked with VANE's exploration team in the past during
his time at Freeport McMoran, and he has also worked for Barrick Gold
Corporation, Homestake Mining Company and Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented, 'We are delighted to announce the
addition of these uranium assets to the VANE portfolio and will update the
market with more substantial details once further properties have been claimed.
The uranium market has been strong for some time now, reflecting a long-term
forecast supply shortage and the growing recognition that nuclear energy offers
a cleaner and more energy efficient fuel source. Through our extensive network,
we have identified some quality projects and look forward to releasing further
details when appropriate.'

Back to Vane, it looks like some dont realise that news is imminent on the Uranium propertys.

Has anybody looked at the photos in the gallery of Vane Minerals website? Compare them with the photos on (for example) Griffin Mining website.

I'm a holder in both, and quite frankly I'm not impressed with Vane's pictures. OK, so the CEO is prepared to get a shovel out - but are these images a true indication of current mining operations?

'Nuff said (check 'em out to see what I'm getting at - don't want to cause a panic)

The photos where the Uranium is located arent on there. Its top secret. I hear James Bond is overseeing the security of the project.

cheers GF.

From over the road:

A good, accurate writeup from Mineweb -
http://www.mineweb.net/sections/junior_mining/431569.htm

VANE Minerals, the company that listed on AIM in June 2004 and which is exploring and developing precious metals prospects in Latin America with the aid of the extensive Freeport Minerals database, has reported its full year results. The company s current market capitalisation is 32.15 million ($60 million); ticker symbol VML.

The company raised 3.28 million ($6 million at current exchange rates) on its listing and at year-end had cash balances of 2.34 million. The cash raised is being applied to the detailed exploration and development of the companys three main properties in Mexico; these are the Diablito (gold and silver) in Nayrit, Guadalcazar (gold) in San Luis de Potosi and Mina Charay (gold and silver) in the State of Sinaloa. Prudent management has resulted in the achievement of the prospectus objectives within budget and ahead of schedule and the company expects to remain self-funding in these operations during the first half of this year while Diablito is brought into production, after which the company will become cash-generative. Diablito is expected to generate approximately $3 million a year.

The company has also made application for gold-copper prospects in Paraguay and for uranium licences in North America.

The agreement with FCX over the use of that companys substantial exploration database, which contains over 7,000 files, has been extended by an additional year, to June 2006 and VANE intends to make use of the database in order to identify further exploration targets. A number have already been identified and evaluation is to be undertaken in the coming months.

The resource at Diablito has been upgraded through the completion of a diamond drilling programme, giving revised resource estimates of 23,300t of measured, 11,700t of inferred and 65,000t of inferred resources at a grade of 0.39 ounces/t gold and 42.4 ounces/t silver, giving a marginal gold content with silver content of 39,000 ounces 1.2 tonnes) and 4.24 million ounces (131.9 tonnes) of silver. A mining plan is under initiation under the auspices of VANE and MGA Contratista Minera SA de CV. Initial production is scheduled for May of this year, two months ahead of the original schedule, with a daily design capacity of 50 tons.

Guadalcazar, of which the exploration licence covers an area of more than 20 square kilometres, is recording satisfactory progress. Detailed geophysical and geochemical surveys have been completed, along with geologic mapping of limestones surrounding the Guadalcazar basin and are going further towards confirming the presence of a large hydrothermal gold deposit. Eight targets have been selected for drilling with a budget for 22 holes; drilling commenced on March 8; two holes have been completed and a third is underway. The initial drilling phase will complete eleven holes and the company expects to report the results of drilling and analysis by late April or in May. This deposit too is ahead of schedule and under budget.

The company has secured an option to purchase Mina Charay, a gold-silver deposit that has the potential for rapid cash flow generation and for the presence of a large bulk mineable deposit. First phase diamond drilling (seven holes) has been completed, along with a reconnaissance survey, both of which indicate at least one well-mineralised vein structure on the property. Both are open to the west, along strike and down dip.

New developments include the application for three large concessions in east central Paraguay over an area of 3,800 square kilometres and at least 22 gold or gold-copper anomalies have been identified. More detailed geochemical work is underway.

The company has so far claimed seven properties and a further 28 properties have been targeted for acquisition. Some of these are believed to contain approximately 1% U3O8 giving ore to the value of roughly $400/tonne. With Diablito shortly to provide fresh cash flow, this company should be in a position to bring its best additional properties to book within a reasonable timeframe. Hopefully the air of mystery over the location of the uranium properties will soon be dispelled.

Cheers, Madison

Buyers moving back in.

Good work Madison.

Glad to see that the use of the Freeport Minerals Database has been extended to June 2006. That gives Vane more time to find even more potential mining sites. Can only be good news. LOL

Madison - 12 Apr 2005 10:12 - 310 of 2220

Yes, good point StarFrog. The database is immensely valuable - who knows what other treasures are buried within.

Also, the RNS yesterday made clear that the number of uranium targets claimed has increased from 7 to 10 since the previous RNS. I think that point may have been overlooked by some, whilst thinking about the timing of announcements!

It's going to be very exciting when the location of these uranium properties is revealed. There's a lot of news in the pipeline coming over the next few weeks and months.

Cheers, Madison

goldfinger - 12 Apr 2005 23:09 - 311 of 2220

The database could be Vanes biggest assett. I beleive it goes back years.

cheers GF.

Madison - 13 Apr 2005 00:14 - 312 of 2220

Hi GF,

Remember your post of 9 March: uranium prices at $21.75 a pound? Now look - Ux Weekly Spot Prices (4/4/05 latest available) $23.00 per pound. That's a 5.74% increase.

Even if you take, more conservatively, the End of Month U308 prices (28/03/05 latest) they're up .75 to $22.5 per pound (3.45% increase).

Now Vane have ten sites claimed (as opposed to the former 7).

If Vane shares were a good idea four weeks ago, based on the uranium sites shortly to be revealed, then they ought to be an even better idea now. (Personally I put a lot of store by the database too - this is one of the things that marks this company out from others, though it's perhaps not the sexiest concept to grasp)

DYOR. Remember uranium prices can go down as well as up. (!)

Cheers, Madison

ateeq180 - 14 Apr 2005 19:58 - 317 of 2220

Very quite day for vml, any one any thoughts as there were no buys at all today a bit worrying.or is it the market overall.

goldfinger - 15 Apr 2005 00:25 - 318 of 2220

Hi Ateeq180, I would say its the market overall having a negative effect on stocks.

Miners are usually poor with PR so please try and be patient with these boys.

cheers Gf

Madison - 15 Apr 2005 00:43 - 319 of 2220

Hi ateeq, the price held up pretty well I thought. No buys because either already bought or waiting for further dip?

I guess many of those who sold today will have bought around the same price, so making little or no profit (or a loss). One has to wonder why they bought in the first place, and I suspect it's often to do with an upcoming uranium announcement. That announcement was anticipated to be a little earlier than we currently expect (round end of this month). That wait's just too much for some, who want to be where the news is everyday. Shame really, because this company could really do very well. Patience is the key. I expect to go sideways for a week or two before the news comes. Nothing's ever certain in life, but Vane have been as clear as they can be that news is on the way on this front (also very soon on Guadalcazar).

As I said above:
If Vane shares were a good idea four weeks ago, based on the uranium sites shortly to be revealed, then they ought to be an even better idea now.
