Hilary
Dusseldorf Vasey is a small village in Chessex, just a mile or two from that other well known village, Loose Chippings.

hilary - 01 Dec 2003 17:09 - 3054 of 23498

I am enlightened, thank you Old Socs, even although I'm yet to see the light.

Time for another cuppa and then back to the ym auction -only seems to be going down like Monica Lewinsky at the moment.

Socrates - 02 Dec 2003 17:17 - 3067 of 23498

I'm just about ready fot a large pot of Rosie Lee and a plate of Garibaldis. Hello all, great to be back.

little willie - 02 Dec 2003 17:29 - 3068 of 23498

Wotcha Socks dear boy.
I'll join you if I may, one of those awful 'sweetner' pills with rosie.
You reminded me of when I was very young, my mother would spread a sliver of REAL butter from the farm up t' road on garibaldis for my sister and I.
A real treat.
I'm talking v.early 50's about when rationinbg was finished.
We were poor but, by God we were happy!?!....

little willie - 02 Dec 2003 17:31 - 3069 of 23498

By the by Socs, I didn't think you were interested in sport.
What were you a back in? Footie or the real game?

Socrates - 02 Dec 2003 17:52 - 3070 of 23498

lw
I was back in my car under the carport. I was glad to be home tonight, all the loonies seem to be on the road tonight. I remember rationing, it was in those days when a pound of sugar was poured into a paper cone and folded over by the shopkeeper. (How on earth did they do that?) Biscuits were weighed out of big tins. Ho hum!

zarif - 02 Dec 2003 18:16 - 3071 of 23498

Gd: quick cuppa and can i have all the rockets that u have stashed so that i can stick them up DOWS a*** and light the fuse to make it rocket up as seems to be range bound and boring as hell, while the EUR is knocking the crap out of the dollar.

thanks for the fireworks and hot cuppa
