How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

I've downloaded BetAngel basic, but I can't find any instructions at all.
How do I get started?

bakko - 27 May 2005 06:41 - 3084 of 10502

Scrip,

Download of Bet angel together with microsoft framework OK but on logging in I get "Version of Betangel has expired, please update".
Tried reloading but getting the same message.

Will be away till Tuesday (Wedding anniversary) so won't pick up your reply till then but thanks in advance.

No Betfair for me this weekend :(

Scripophilist - 27 May 2005 08:09 - 3085 of 10502

Bakko, I will email you. I'll need your system spec to check what the issue is.

Kajman, I will be uploading a tutorial later.

TPO - 27 May 2005 08:53 - 3086 of 10502

Just spoke to betfair as to why I still can't connect and apparently it's a problem with the BT network that is affecting part of the country and is preventing access to large dynamic sites like theirs. BT engineers are working at five locations to fix the problem.

Issues to do with the Expiry of the software are related to the time and date settings on your computer. I will update the help and expiry files to ensure you can understand how to correct the formatting issue on your PC.
