I have created this new thread so that anyone who is interested in attending a celebration lunch, day out, whatever to celebrate TMC's share price reaching 20, can register their interest and voice an opinion on what they would like to do.
When,.......Obviously timing is not yet known.
Where,......Somewhere pretty central to most posters.
Who,.........Is it just investors, or do we include other halves.
What,........Theme park, slap up lunch, piss up.
Any ideas, put them forward on this thread and we can all openly discuss options and formulate a day of celebration.

all of which implies that definitely no hurry to jump on board ...... far too many unknowns and dependancies

the point i was making was that TMC are probably just moving in "sympathy" rather than for any company-specific reason

cynic, probably see a supply deal with Ferexpo shortly.
Nickel seems at last playing catch up with copper.
Think to many have eyes on UK stockmarket when looking at metals and miners, need to start looking at Chindia to see what is really happening in the world. Big recovery play this one.
Off topic, not sure if it's the scrappage scheme but noticed so many new cars on road last few weeks. Anyone else?

nickel is a major (price) component of stainless steel, and at the moment at least, there is no recovery in either demand or price in that respect - and that applies to Chindia too, as you neatly call it
with regard to copper, i think i am right to say that it is housebuilding that has a significnat influence ..... that being so, copper would currently be the better bet

haven't seen a nickel chart of late ..... can you post one
the price increase i was referring to was of stainless ..... if nickel price has increased but not s/s, then implication is, as i said, that demand for s/s remains very depressed

i know of that one, but am i not right in sayimng their charts are pretty small and cannot be cc'd and pasted?
i must say that i cannot disagree with the sentiment that TMC should be at least ticking upwards quite merrily, but the hard fact is that it seems thoroughly disinclined to do so

perhaps i'm not so dumb after all ......
Encouraged by higher prices, a few metal producers have started to reverse earlier cutbacks and project delays, prompted around mid-2008 by plunging demand.
But for metals like aluminium and nickel, where more cuts are still needed, such moves come on top of on-schedule start-ups of new operations and threaten to keep those markets in surplus for longer than most.

you might not like what i posted, and you can even disregard it, but i didn't make it up and i doubt that Reuters (today's report) did either ..... it also happens that our industry is very sensitive to the price of stainless steel, of which nickel makes up a remarkably high proportion of the price .... nor for that matter, did i make up the relative disinterest of the market in TMC
so a little less unwarranted abuse from you would be in order

redd through this thread and you may see why i have little if any respect for your assesment of how economies work. Like i say stick to your selling of door to door cleaning cloths ;-)

i do not comment on how economies work, for it is clearly well beyond the capabilities of any man alive to determine what will happen next ..... however, if you can put aside for a minute your emotional imbalance perhaps brought about by PMT, you may care to note that the comments in my last post are actually irrefutable
