rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.
for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

you're right ..... fyi, HB was a pools pundit with a huge following on Radio Luxemburg .... he was based in Keynsham, Bristol ..... anyone of my sort of age will remember his ads well!

imo fwiw i can see the DOW going down 500 first at open dragging us back down before we see a pull back, then Bush is going to have his little speech which wont make a blind bit of difference, but by tonight the worst will be over, and next week we can do things and other stuff...
