required field - 14 Jul 2010 13:55

It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

required field - 14 Jun 2014 10:16 - 3133 of 6918

Going for a small punt on England or draw....

Stan - 14 Jun 2014 10:28 - 3134 of 6918

Will you never learn RF -):

.. Alright a draw then, but don't go mad.

required field - 14 Jun 2014 10:30 - 3135 of 6918

I think that Spain will recover....if they pull themselves together and get their sharpness back : they will be a match for anybody.....they are past their peak but that doesn't mean they become a bad team overnight....

required field - 14 Jun 2014 10:33 - 3136 of 6918

Not bad odds for a double chance Stan....they were even better last week....so far won on Brazil and Chile...would be nice to come out with a profit from this world cup...

required field - 14 Jun 2014 10:59 - 3137 of 6918

Blimey !..having had a good look at the draw :...if we did win the group and got through the following round : we would probably bump into the Dutch...get through that and it's the Argies...after that it's perhaps Brazil....could also be a Brazil-Germany semifinal...a second round Brazil-Spain...this could end with a Brazil-Argentina or Brazil-Holland.....I think we should just be happy with England doing their best, one game at a time and who knows ? ; they might just surprise us all.....it does seem that Argentina have the best route to the final...for Brazil : it will not be easy....

As a reminder:

England’s is in Group D and will play the following matches in a bid to get through to the knockout stages:

Saturday 14th June, 11pm, BBC One: England vs Italy
Thursday 19th June, 8pm, ITV: England vs Uruguay
Tuesday 24th June, 5pm, ITV: England vs Costa Rica

How else can you watch the matches?

It’s very unlikely anyone will be able to watch live matches in 4K at home in the UK.

The BBC has announced it will trial UHD broadcasts from the Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro. The closed trial will simultaneously broadcast over terrestrial TV and the internet, via a satellite link from Brazil to the UK. Unless you can get access to one of the BBC R&D facilities, you’re out of luck and will have to live with so-called Full HD on BBC One HD or ITV HD.

How to watch the World Cup: Online

The BBC has a dedicated World Cup page on its website, which will be accessible from PCs, laptops, smartphones and tablets.

To watch matches live, you’ll need to go to the iPlayer page in your browser, or use the iOS, Android or Windows Phone 8 app.

Similarly, you’ll be able to watch games shown on ITV live via the ITV Player website, or via the iOS, Android or Windows Phone 8 app.

As well as live matches, there will be extended coverage including analysis, highlights, news and interactive features. BBC is promising that all this content will be “available across any device at any time”.

How to watch the World Cup: On a smartphone or tablet via 3G or 4G

You can watch live TV via the BBC iPlayer and ITV Player apps on iOS, Android and Windows Phone, but bear in mind that this will quickly eat through your data allowance if you’re on 3G or 4G.

Chris, yep Milli put his foot in it. Set up a William Hill account mate, thanks for the advice. Got 3 0ut of 4 right up to date. Nice running profit, far better watching games when you have dosh on, should have done it years ago.

Think Im going for a draw with the Italians tonight, as usual will probably be the worst game to watch so far and bring the very high standards set so far back down to earth.

Just hope we have a go instead of playing backwards and crab football.

Cant understand why he thinks so much of this Henderson chap, id have Wilshire in alongside Gerrard.

Uruguay for a win in the other game against Costa Rica and leaving the other game Colombia v Greece alone too risky to bet on.

Fantastic World Cup so far, South Africa was so boring and noicey with them silly Vo vos or whatever they were called.

Just hope it carries on like this.

RF I agree with you about that Spanish penalty, no way was it a pen, but dont tell Stan that or ive had it.

Yep that draw as you outline above is very very tough but then again you have to beat these teams to go through.

Cant see Spain playing so badly again and fancy them to beat Chile mid week in fact id say thats my banker so far for the coming week.

Stan - 14 Jun 2014 15:03 - 3141 of 6918

Agree, never a penalty the Spaniard trod on the defenders trailing leg and nothing more. Mind you I think it did illustrates just what a difficult job refereeing is, 1st look I thought it was a pen, but from a different angle and in slow motion it obviously was not.. refs got no chance in real time sometimes of getting it right.

Stan - 14 Jun 2014 18:56 - 3142 of 6918

Very impressed with Columbia easy 3-0 winners against Greece I thought.

goldfinger - 14 Jun 2014 20:40 - 3143 of 6918

Columbia yes its the only match I havent bet on. Didnt have a clue about present form.

Looked pretty good, and Greece not the fighting spirit you expect from them.

Im on Uruguay who have gone 1 up . Fingers crossed.

Starting to get worked up for the England Game so just done some exercise, 50 push ups and some cyling on the machine. England footy always get me on edge.

Sent her indoors out with my mates wifes. Given her 200 sheets and told her to have a good one down town.

Feel sick, just hope Roy isnt negative tonight.

goldfinger - 14 Jun 2014 20:43 - 3144 of 6918

goldfinger - 14 Jun 2014 21:13 - 3145 of 6918

Word on the radio hes starting wiith STERLING and not lelanu.

Reckon he should also have Barklay in and henderson out.

Wheres Chris Carson I thought he was a footy nutcase.

dreamcatcher - 14 Jun 2014 21:19 - 3146 of 6918

Watching the football, no doubt. :-)

goldfinger - 14 Jun 2014 21:49 - 3147 of 6918

Well Costa Lota have put the Kybosh on the group now.

England must win tonight or we have had it.

Stan - 14 Jun 2014 22:02 - 3148 of 6918

A brilliant all round team performance by Costa Rica tonight, the surprise packet so far. Thought the other lot were awful.

goldfinger - 14 Jun 2014 22:12 - 3149 of 6918

duplicate.

goldfinger - 14 Jun 2014 22:12 - 3150 of 6918

Duplicate.

goldfinger - 14 Jun 2014 22:14 - 3151 of 6918

Absolutely Stan and Swarez surely cant add that much to that team.

Still think we need to win though. Pressure will be on us if we dont. Sterling in team and not lelanu.

Calmed down a bit now, that pint of stella done the trick.

My mates all arriving now.

goldfinger - 14 Jun 2014 22:20 - 3152 of 6918
