THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Now dont get me wrong Hays you can call me all the names in the world and insult me until the cows come home Im thick skinned I can take it, but Im certainly not going to be infered as a ramper or deramper as that is a crimminal offence, and I havent committed a crime in my life.

dreamcatcher - 19 Oct 2013 21:48 - 31353 of 81564

Easy get out sadly the squelch button on moneyam's part. I will not use it. I'm not far off reporting someone myself. I will go straight into moneyam and they can make their choices. In blunt terms I go or they do, if I get much more. The squelch button is as I have said rather childish and is not addressing the abuser.

goldfinger - 19 Oct 2013 21:51 - 31354 of 81564

DC yep I completly understand your feelings after yesterdays escapade. I witnessed it and will back you up if you need it. Must admit I got carried away with the situation and I bet its been ongoing.

MaxK - 19 Oct 2013 21:55 - 31355 of 81564

Since when has ramping or deramping been a criminal offence?

goldfinger - 19 Oct 2013 21:57 - 31356 of 81564

2001 updated 2008 I believe. We are talking ramping here NOT hyping.

Haystack - 19 Oct 2013 22:00 - 31357 of 81564

That's ramping with deliberately false information.

goldfinger - 19 Oct 2013 22:00 - 31358 of 81564

As you know g and all reading this, a lot of work goes into these threads (from every poster). As some say take it as a guide/ pinch of salt and above all do your own research. We can learn from one another. I knew very little a few years ago and thank those who have answered my questions and helped me along the way. I do as like most on here do not for one minute mind answering any ones questions, but to answer questions and get abuse as if I'm the company director is going to far.
I have put it to the poster to go to the company's concerned and tell them what you have told me. Await his answer on Monday. Even given him the telephone numbers and the Ceo's names to speak to. He can tell them in his words the share prices are ramped up.

goldfinger - 19 Oct 2013 22:01 - 31360 of 81564

Hays exactly see above.

goldfinger - 19 Oct 2013 22:07 - 31361 of 81564

Yep DC, some on here just do it for kicks, probably gets them off.

Like I said if you want back up refer management to me. I know your a upstanding well regarded member of this community.

goldfinger - 19 Oct 2013 22:10 - 31362 of 81564

Right off to watch Match Of The Day.

See ya muckers.

dreamcatcher - 19 Oct 2013 22:22 - 31363 of 81564

Thanks g, Any poster can come on a thread and say what they like about a share I'm not bothered. Nice to back their thoughts up with some evidence but that's up to them. Ie they like the share or don't. We need more contributors to the threads. I can see by the counters (a lot of readers) up to the individual. A Poster who asks you a question after regular snipes and abuse and you courteously give him the answers as he clearly has not researched/understands or even wants to about the company. Then proceeds to call me a clown and you could well say all investors in that company so.

TIME MONEY AM STEPPED IN AS THIS TYPE OF POSTER IS GIVING GOOD POSTERS/MONEYAM A BAD NAME.

Fred1new - 19 Oct 2013 22:24 - 31364 of 81564

I tink there are many on this ted tnight who hav dink two mch Black Nan to-nought, or sons are tking the puss out.

bur the squalk bitting is v, good!

dreamcatcher - 19 Oct 2013 22:37 - 31365 of 81564

I have been thinking would it be a good idea (may not even be possible for money am if posters thought it a good idea) that is to be able to update a thread that has the usual date it was updated WITHOUT the update pushing the thread to the top of the moneyam thread list all the time. I regularly would like to update many of the threads I contribute to without looking like its getting deliberate notice by going to the top/number one position. Then this may also help the ramping issues, that often are not even there. Perhaps a facility to not push your update to the top and one if you think it important or the likes etc .

As said seems a good idea any thoughts for or against?

dreamcatcher - 19 Oct 2013 22:38 - 31366 of 81564

This is serious fred.

Fred1new - 19 Oct 2013 22:53 - 31367 of 81564

DC.

No, I don't think it a good idea.

I use the favourites for following shares, or threads that I am interesting in to, even if not necessarily contributing to them.

Also, see that I have about 6 permanently squelched, as I don't find their contributions rewarding enough to bother reading their postings.

But that is personal choice.

Also, having date and time listed does point to what is active in the market.

Ramping, I think is an offence if one is a guru or a reputable firm etc..

But how many on these sites are reputable?

8-)

I am off now, just had a promise.

The dates and times will as said still be there. The squelch button yes stops you reading unwanted posts but still leaves in some cases un asked for abuse for all to read. My own view you just look weak to the abuser using the facility. It would be better yes to if you have to squelch them from even being able to get on your thread. That's what is more needed.

Thanks fred

Wondered what you meant, I see now. lol

"The squelch button yes stops you reading unwanted posts but still leaves in some cases un asked for abuse for all to read.".........ends

Yep thats whats wrong with the filter type system DC(used on most boards)s and these second rate B lister s know that and use it to their advantage, in fact encouraging other similar type idiots to post so that you see it.

Its time the decent types on here stuck together and pulled in the same direction and fought against the spoilers.

Its ok Hays saying its petty, Hays is encamped on this thread most of the year and doesnt get about the threads like others who see what really is going on in general on the board.

Nothing against Hays for that but he is missing the truth.

The direction should come from the older more experienced members of the board if management dont see fit to manage the abuse.

dreamcatcher - 19 Oct 2013 23:59 - 31370 of 81564

It also does not leave a good taste for international visitors. We all get along with some posters and not so well with some, lol that's life. At the end of the day when investors have hard earnt cash in a stock and come to a thread to add views or read, they do not need to read abuse/insults aimed at the poster by someone not even the slightest interested in the stock more out to cause offence. Good night.

Haystack - 20 Oct 2013 00:36 - 31371 of 81564

gf
I read almost all the threads and it is pretty minor compared to ADVFN. I was here as a beta tester when it began. I was also there when ADVFN started and on the BB that preceded it.
