Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Haystack - 21 Jun 2016 22:25 - 3145 of 12628

Boris was brilliant. He got a standing ovation at the end. The Leave side were far better at putting their arguments across. Sadiq Khan was dreadful and came up with constant stupid ideas.

dreamcatcher - 21 Jun 2016 22:27 - 3146 of 12628

One point that was not made was that Boris had the same team as the other nights debate. The ins had two changes, that in my opinion did them no favours. Sadiq Khan
was made several times by Boris to look like a boy.

This will have a big influence on the vote. It aint over till the fat lady sings. :-))

aldwickk - 21 Jun 2016 22:48 - 3148 of 12628

The Union woman was useless ., Sadiq Khan was just a little irritant and the Labour one was a butch big mouth.

dreamcatcher - 21 Jun 2016 22:53 - 3149 of 12628

I bet DC has a few more grey hairs after his teams poor efforts. In my opinion he should of been there.

Something else the remainians wont want to talk about:

Slightly concerned about BoJo calling tomorrow Independence Day...I've seen that film, it did not go well !!!
And I hear rumours the buggers are back ooh..er

Strangely not much has been said directly about democracy in this campaign, despite the fact that the leaders of our two largest parties normally rant on about it ENDLESSLY.
But of course there is no democracy in the eu, so why mention it.
Well here's the rub, they both claim to support this concept yet they both advocate staying in the eu and relinquishing what little say we have left in our own destiny..PATHETIC.

STORMCALLER - 22 Jun 2016 04:23 - 3154 of 12628

Much has been made in the campaign of the 'WE' word.
It has frequently been my experience this turns out to be I...if we vote Leave and sanity wins the day, DC's prospects will be severely damaged.
If the remainiacs win, the benefits to DC's future wealth could be enormous.
He has already stated he will not seek re-election and will need a new job...suddenly a new post is created in Brussels...Pan-European Fart-Smeller, 4 hrs per year, salary £10M
And what about little Geogie, maybe another new post...Senior European Pre-Death Mortician, 3 days per year, salary £7.5M...
(neither job requires the successful applicant to attend)

If you really think I am joking, watch this space !!!

As for immigration, the effects will be far less than most leavers hope, study your history, EVERY post-war government has sucked in ever increasing numbers, that will not change, and will end in tears.

That is not the biggest problem with a leave vote however.

Without doubt the greatest danger of a leave vote is the occupants of Downing Street, if they lose, their revenge against our country could be catastrophic economically, as they throw their toys out of the pram and do their worst....it'll still be worth it !!!

Whatever your convictions I hope everyone will vote, as a good turnout is vital.

Should the remainiacs win, you will at least have the satisfaction of participating in the last meaningful vote to take place in this country.

Well said on both counts.

VICTIM - 22 Jun 2016 07:42 - 3158 of 12628

Nice to see new faces , I'm on overload on the debate watching another BB every single company talk is on the EU, must stop looking . Which ever way it goes Britain will never be the same again , just hope we can retain our independence I'm sure these countries attitude won't be as bad as they are saying , after all if a Nation decide something other Nations should respect it . Cameron has been a total disgrace in all this .

Sadiq Khan showed himself incompetent as a speaker ,like a schoolboy trying to win an argument .Then going for the race card ,quite a vile little man.

Claret Dragon - 22 Jun 2016 08:38 - 3161 of 12628

The real battle wıll take place ıf the vote ıs to leave. No mandate those who are peddlıng dısaster to have a place ın Govt.

Fred1new - 22 Jun 2016 08:52 - 3162 of 12628

P 3160,

If so, you should get on well with him.

required field - 22 Jun 2016 08:52 - 3163 of 12628

Well...here we are ....time to vote out of the EU and all the dodgy, corrupt ways that have been going on.....put a stop to illegal immigrants.....because you know that vote remain means pretty much : more of the same.....of course all those people with their noses in the trough will want you to vote for same again.....but if you can see a better future for us all in getting rid of being bossed around by Brussels corrupt and co...then vote leave !....

Dil - 22 Jun 2016 09:00 - 3164 of 12628

I don't think Remain did anywhere as near as bad last night as some of you are making out. Did think the Tory gob shite was a bit OTT and could have rubbed Labour voter's up the wrong way and that the digs the Union rep was having at the government could have rubbed Conservatives up the wrong way.

Getting fed up with all the crap now and glad it'll all be over tomorrow whoever wins.
