A civilised country before the religious nutters took over - yes, even under Pahlavi.

I always though you were only a little chappie or something like that 8-)
Your Libya seems to be getting messier and messier.
Absence of the tools and leadership.
I think they could have those SAS personalities Dave, George and George parachuted in.
Won't help them much, but will remove a few problems for Britain.

Eye-ran remains the biggest threat and that's where the world needs regime change before they attack Israel (hay parrot applauding) and we have nuclear war.

I came across this in my wanderings, and noting the date, I wonder whether this is related to the uprising in Libya.
Am I beginning to believe in conspiracies?

spiracy schmiracy, as some might say!
in an age where news is live 24/7 we have rather come to expect things to be resolved quickly and easily ..... "world drama" can often feel like a tv serial with neat little conclusions at the end of each episode, which of course is ridiculous

Looking at Iraq and probably Libya and possibly Egypt your conclusion is possibly correct.

Do any of you free thinking gentlemen honestly think that it will end when Gaddafi goes?? I say there will be one big bun fight while various factions try to wrest control from the others. We may well end up out of the frying pan so to speak !!!! You cannot knock the bravery shown but to what end?? I bet that in some shady little dens deals are all ready being struck and not by the people dodging the bullets.

it will at least be the end of the beginning, but it is indeed possible that the frogs will ultimately inherit a heron king

In the 1920/30s we would have backed them to the hilt until the chips were down then walk away as they were fed to the lions. As a nation we are not without guilt ask the cossacks!!

Yes, I know, though the heron king reminded me of the long necked de Gaulle and all the problems we had with him and his ego both during the war and afterwards :)
