That German player i just saw on the news should never be allowed to play big time football again , falling over pretending that he had been hit in the face .
And they call themselves sportsmen !!

If England did get through : I reckon it could be Colombia in the second round ! (not easy)....better get used to south american and central american opposition quicko !....a punt on England to beat Uruguay ?.....pretty certain we are going to throw the kitchen sink at them in the second half if we are no winning by then !...watch out for yellow and red cards and provocations in that game !....impressive Germany as usual.....they might bump into Brazil in the semis !....(if we are not there)(...only joking...).....this could be a world cup full of surprises !.....

Off topic......what they should do at Wembley and would be a good earner : is to install a section of removable steps over the arc over the stadium so that people can walk up and over the whole complex, (the view would be incredible)....of course this would not be in operation during games or events or in bad weather with high winds, and would have to be lightweight with a maximum of 10 persons at a time on the gantry probably.....can't believe that the architects never thought about including this during construction...

Late but anyway:
Trouble with numbers in midfield, still, Gerrard was very poor; Rooney in the first half, Welbeck in the second, the problem continued - he is finished, and we are relying on him!
Wasting Rooney and think the same goes for Baines.
Cheers,

Not sure what you mean about wasting Kid.
All the wile Rooney is played out of position we are unlikely to see the best of him, As for Bains well a terrific L.B. going forward from what I've seen of him, defensively like the other full back.. both lacking in defending capability at the top level.

Stan,
Never going to get the best from Rooney wide - a waste, and not using Baines' attacking ability - a waste.
Cheers,

I think it's unfair to criticise Rooney's performance, I think he did his best in the circumstances and laid on the pass for the goal. The defending was poor, otherwise England might have sneaked a draw.

Play Rooney in his central position and then judge him I say.

The manager isn't a fool. Neither are the players. They must all surely realise that a massive improvement in 'quality of play' is required. Other than this, there wasn't too much wrong with how they played the last match.
Nice to see a mention in the media, that Rooney stays behind practising his shooting skills and accuracy. He is really up for it and so are the rest of the team.
I do believe that Rooney can actually play in any position and has a natural ability to be able to create and take chances. I guess we all know and believe this and so would like to see him up more in the centre of the England attack. However, when he does play there, he is going to be more strongly marked out of the game. In our last game he did float over a beautifully and calmly delivered cross from the LHS for Sturridge to pop into the net. Rooney needs feeding with the ball for him to be able to do this kind of stuff for other attackers.
I like to see Gerrard and Rooney taking the corners and free kicks. Their dead ball play can be phenominal. When it isn't, is it the hardness of the ground affecting their minds, I often wonder? Are they frightened of stubbing their toe?
All the team need to massively improve their passing and shooting accuracy. Sometimes it is truly crap! After all if they can't do the most basic stuff because of stress or nerves or whatever, then they deserve to get taken off and give someone else a chance.
All the England players are really up for the next match and fully realise that if they lose it, then they are truly "OUT". I'm sure we are about to witness utterly mammoth humongous determination. Particularly if they go a goal down, I reckon it will be 'tanks, rifles, hand guns and sabres out time' and maybe with the odd scythe too.
Damn it! Come on England! I definitely do not want to be taking down all my house's St George streamers and flags on Friday morning!
