Nice one MP - I think you'll find if you look again it's even bluer. Up 106% from yesterday's close. I'm up a more modest 21%, my Dad's up 16% - you could say we're both pretty chuffed too.

IMHO there is more to come; can't quite understand the attitude of some, but I could be wrong, so let each call it as he or she sees fit.

Tonker - 26 Sep 2006 19:33 - 324 of 934

Frampton, sorry I am probably useing the wrong term. I like to buy share just after they have floated, and then sell very soon afterwards.... It takes time to pick good stocks to do this with.... Sometimes I sell 2 or 3 mins after purchase, some times I let them run for longer, setting a rolling stop loss of 8%. It is a great specialization, that suits my impatient mind.... I also like buying in to stocks when they are low, and selling high very shortly afterwards.... hopefully..
I should set up a new IPOs thread?

Tonker - 26 Sep 2006 19:35 - 325 of 934

By the way PetroNeft Resources Plc did not float today, must have been delayed...

Tonker - 26 Sep 2006 19:37 - 326 of 934

It will be tommorrow, floatation of PetroNeft Resources Plc...

Frampton - 27 Sep 2006 08:28 - 327 of 934

Thanks for the clarification Tonker, I thought that was probably what you meant. It sounds like a good system, although I have to admit I'm much more of a "buy hold" type investor. As for buying into stocks when they are low and selling when they are high - isn't that what we should all be aiming for?! (not that it always works out that way)

SOLA running away with itself again:

SOLA Bid: 193p Offer: 196p Change: 22.5

Most gaming stocks diving today could be a bounce on some but take care.

Congress unexpectedly passed a bill at the weekend which will make unlawful the receipt by a gambling business of proceeds or monies in connection with unlawful internet gambling.

Sportingbet at 75p -60%
World Gaming at 15p. -72%
Partygaming at 43p.-55%
Leisure & Gaming at 12p -62%
Gaming Corp 6p - 20%
Gaming vc 117p -17%
NETELLER 144 - 60%

Great minds, I'm not in this sector but have been tempted in the past.

kimoldfield - 02 Oct 2006 09:35 - 332 of 934

I can't understand why the USA are against gambling, they've got George Bush as president, surely the biggest gamble of all!! I only hold 1200 Partygaming, which were bought from profits on sale of SBT so I am just holding long term, feel sorry for those caught out today but the sector has never been one for the faint-hearted.
My favourite stocks at the moment are DGT, ERX and SUN. SUN is the least exciting but the one with a solid build and steady increase in T/O etc.

cynic - 02 Oct 2006 09:50 - 333 of 934

almost certainly because the land-based casino lobby - e.g. Vegas, Atlantic City etc - see a large slab of their profits going out of the door ...... assuredly not a moral issue at stake!

hewittalan6 - 02 Oct 2006 11:37 - 334 of 934

I think you will find, Kim, in the fullness of time that the action has been taken because online gaming has flourished so hugely due to it being a natural home for the simplest money laundering ever.
The anti-money laundering laws are almost completely ineffectual in this environment and that has always been the achilles heel of the industry. Perhaps in the future, it may be back, but for now it must go.

I wouldn't bet on it coming back Alan!

Ouch!!!!

soul traders - 10 Oct 2006 18:13 - 338 of 934

At the risk of getting boring (and being accused of ramping/ranting): Renesola. Again!!

SOLA Bid: 200p Offer: 202p Change: 11.5

RNS out today: "The planned expansion of the Company's production capacity has been revised from 125 MW by the end of 2007 to a target of 180 MW to address the strong market demand for solar wafers."

The company is already profitable and increasing production steadily throughout the rest of the year; the next set of quarterlies is due out in approx 6 weeks and should be very warmly received (as was a trading statement issued on 27th Sept)!

SOLA has also pre-sold a large chunk of its forthcoming production, which makes for good security and visibility of earnings.

SCSW has a near-term price target of 300p. I think 800p is possible by mid-2008 based on the new figures, but time will tell and will depend upon the current market pricees for silicon being maintained.

There are a lot of speculative plays out there, but IMO this is the real deal. Certainly I'm not about to argue with the 37% profit I'm sitting on after less than two months.

PDYOR etc.

Flackwell Vialli - 10 Oct 2006 20:16 - 339 of 934

Spotted SOLA too, soul trader and took a small holding today - the figures and growth are incredible, and even if these slow down still represent value for money - surely has to be in the right market, with sales largely guaranteed, and a good supply line.

driver - 10 Oct 2006 20:17 - 340 of 934

soul traders
Renesola Market Cap is 201.00m at the moment do you think a M/Cap of 800m is possible.

Flackwell Vialli - 10 Oct 2006 20:27 - 341 of 934

Driver - If you work with the latest quarter actual profits of $5m - ie an annualised $20m what PE ratio would you assign?

You would have noted that in itself the 2nd Qtr shows sales growth in XS of 100%.

Add to that an ever increasing capacity (+50% ish by todays RNS) of which 90% is already pre-sold, at a GM of over 30%, and it all looks too good to be true.

driver - 10 Oct 2006 20:45 - 342 of 934

Flackwell
So an 800m M/Cap looks a long way of then?
