I thought you might say that, Opti.
:o)
Thanks for your help. I've now managed to get the phone and PC talking and have transferred data via the Taskbar icon (drag and drop), but I can't get the Samsung software to communicate. It seems strange that they should call it EasyStudio!!! Perhaps that's their idea of a joke.

Hi - I have almost 35 gigs of word and .pdf documents built up over the years and I now find it difficult to remember what is where. They are saved to an NT server where I have admin rights to set up a search and index facility if I wish. My question is "Has anybody got any experience or idea as to which or what to use"? - I only need to index word, .pdf and plain text and search by two or three keywords. Oh, and I shouldn't forget but we don't want to implement a web based solution like Google which seems to take info off site, but a stand alone sort of thing.

emailpat.
Do you mean you can't use Dial-up since you've installed Broadband?
If so, go on to the TOOLS menu on IE.
Select INTERNET OPTIONS
Select CONNECTIONS
Tick DIAL WHENEVER A CONNECTION IS NOT PRESENT
This will uncheck the NEVER DIAL A CONNECTION box
This should enable you to revert to Dial-Up
Reverse the above procedure to use Broadband.

I have been using a beautiful Screensaver for about 3 weeks now.
It is called Polymorf3D and is available as a free download from

Sorry for topic alteration
Not sure if anyone can help on this?
Outlook express e-mail working fine except one e-mail received Friday evening
(reputable source, comes every Friday evening from US, no attachments)
It can't be opened, or deleted or anything elsed. Every time you try and do anything with it it sends Outlook Express into not responding mode. You can then X out of Outlook Express and reopen and deal with any other e-mail but if you have anything to do with the offending e-mail it is all back to not responding mode.
Now, i suppose it could just sit there for ever but anyone have any idea how to get rid of it

Spaceman, thanks. Definitely no attachments. Similar e-mail (it has quite a lot of information within) comes every week and not normally a problem!

Try accessing ypur email through a web browser to see if it is still on your POP3 server.
http://www.mail2web.com should do it.

Spaceman, thanks again but right click brings up the options including delete but still sends it to Outlook Express not responding.
All other e-mails working fine although if you delete the one above it it also sends it to Outlook Express not responding

Optimist, thanks mail2web.com says I have no messages (ie, NEW ones)
This offending e-mail is effectively in my inbox already but any attempt to open/delete or do anything with it sends Outlook Express to Not Responding mode. All other e-mails acting properly.

hodgins, apart from a very large attachment, the other common cause for OE not responding is a very large list of recipients (happens when a company sends to a mailing list of thousands and makes the recipient list cc rather than bcc). You could leave it for an hour or so and see whether it eventually displays the message as it may well do, in which case it will be a simple matter to delete it.
Otherwise, click View/Layout and untick Show Preview Pane. Then position the cursor over the message title, right click and delete. Since the message is not being opened it should work fine. By the way, this is a much more secure way to use OE since messages are not opened automatically and you have a chance to inspect them first.
