Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Haystack - that's part of the trouble with some of these Labour MPs, just like Balls they would like to be posh boys/girls, but they can't quite cut it!

No they arent, just a few on the labour side loads of them on the Tory side.
And you see its the tory attitude that stinks, they think they have a devine right to leadership and wealth.
Just look at Hays and cynic as examples.
They arent self made like myself and others.
Thats a big big difference.

I come from a poor background. I have been left no money from anyone. I went to a state school.

Max big big difference between those that are privately educated who believe wealth and leadership still have to be earned and............. not given, ie handed on a plate.

Hays what was this about the Threshers empire being left to you then. Thats what you made out!!!!!
And dont deny you havent sent your kids to private school. How can a bloke from a state school send his kids to a private school!!!. You may have had them later in your life than the norm I conceed.
Thats the only way you could have done it. Unless of course you won the pools or similar.
But either way you still have that attitude that stinks.

just been tying up a couple of deals actuaklly Stan, so quite a chirpy day ..... and btw, i have never pretended growing up in anything resembling poverty, and i also see no merit at all in professing or pretending to such background or that one's parents had to clean toilets to keep a crust on the table
in this life, we are dealt a certain hand of cards, and what we make of it is primarily down to the individual, both in good times and bad

that you have done well for yourself i guess warrants plaudits of some kind but certainly no halo
however, it you'ld like to earn a segment of halo, i'll e- you a link so you can contribute to "ShelterBox (http://www.justgiving.com/PhilippinesAppeal). They're already on the ground in the Philippines providing shelter and supplies to those who need it".
Google will double any money given, but you'll need to show the link - hence the need for an e- from me

cynic - I think the Government have already contributed £10million of taxpayers money to this and are also sending out 10 surgeons and paramedics. Quite frankly I think that is enough. This country seems to be a bottomless pit when it comes to sending aid to various countries. alwickk pointed out the other day on this thread how much money the UK has sent to India to help the poverty and the next thing we know is that that country is spending billions on space research. I don't have a problem paying tax in this country, but I do have a problem with whichever party is in power when it seems to think it has a blank cheque book to throw taxpayers money around, wherever in the world, that it thinks is appropriate.
