Easynet (ESY)

proptrade - 22 Jan 2004 11:27

i was wondering if anyone out there had any strong views? this company appears to be delivering and has just turned EBITA positive after a great trading statement last week. seems like upside to +200p once results are out.

any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.

Bones - 07 Feb 2005 13:32 - 327 of 602

The potential is undoubtedly there, Proptrade, and I won't buy on purely chart potential, the fundamentals need to be attractive too. However, now I am in, I think I will double up on today's confirming price action.

proptrade - 07 Feb 2005 16:29 - 328 of 602

small pullback at close. maybe some buyers done? expect a penny or two easier for tomorrow

Bones - 07 Feb 2005 16:32 - 329 of 602

It looks like one MM was holding the bid at 115 until the 150k order was filled. Some selling apparent but a positive close with a bit of volume was my request and it was granted so I hope for a positive week ahead.

proptrade - 08 Feb 2005 10:40 - 330 of 602

it was interesting yesterday because the large buyer probably completed with the 150/- and the MM who completed it moved off the bid and hit the oppo. fun stuff but since ESY has held in there, albeit on small volume, i think there are buyers lower down or the same large buyer has reloaded with something like a 110 top. interesting.

gavdfc - 08 Feb 2005 16:11 - 331 of 602

Been out of most of the day but looks to be a bit of a quieter day today. Am I correct in thinking that once the breakout has occured, the sp can drop and use the previous resistance level as the new support level?

Bones - 08 Feb 2005 19:20 - 332 of 602

That's about the theory of it, and meant to be a healthy sign to jettison the doubters. We shall see!

proptrade - 08 Feb 2005 23:26 - 333 of 602

we shall. it was very positive that we didn't see a 5p drop. really think there are buyers still around...

proptrade - 09 Feb 2005 12:34 - 334 of 602

ok, so there is the drop. down to support levels...lets see if the buyers reemerge. reults around the corner and some healthy consolidation is to be expected.

gavdfc - 09 Feb 2005 12:58 - 335 of 602

Wasn't really expecting this drop today but lets jettison the doubters as Bones said. Price is sitting on the 20ma so lets see if it bounces of it. Offer moved up on L2 from 108 to 110, some interest here perhaps.

proptrade - 09 Feb 2005 13:09 - 336 of 602

small buyers and as i said above i think the big buyer has reloaded and moved his limit to about 110. if these close 110 bid or better then they will fly. i am so sure that these are going to be 120+ and this shake out is a few stale holders from the recent runup who are spooked into selling.
This is FUNDAMENTALLY a great story and results and these buyers will see the stock rerated.

by the way check out AVE...added today, something is brewing!

Picking up plenty of business in Europe it seems. From googling, their is plenty of artciles re new business contracts in Europe. The latest seems to be a contract with Volvo in Belgium:

"Volvo Cars Belgium chose for an Easynet network solution."

Can't see the whole report as it's from a subscription paper in Holland.

Also, from MONI's results yesterday:

"15 million paid to Easynet plc in respect of tax
losses purchased from a former subsidiary, ipsaris, as previously disclosed."

Just a few snippet's worth mentioning I thought.

proptrade - 09 Feb 2005 13:13 - 338 of 602

so true. the volvo is on the ESY website and also there is an excellent presentation on LLU.

contract wins are key and a big name could see a 30% rise in ESY overnight.

gavdfc - 09 Feb 2005 13:20 - 339 of 602

Cheers for the heads up re AVE, will keep an eye on it. Hopefully the next results will go into some detail on these contracts as there hasn't been any RNS's on them. Perhaps some have not noticed them. Agree with you re a big name and these will rise sharply.

proptrade - 09 Feb 2005 13:22 - 340 of 602

AVE just spiked as i sent this post....may be worth a short term flutter

gordon geko - 09 Feb 2005 13:24 - 341 of 602

profit taking today ??

gavdfc - 09 Feb 2005 13:25 - 342 of 602

Gotta go out soon, bugger! Plenty of AT trades at 60 though, hmm. This free trial of L2 is great, pity it runs out tonight! :-(

London - Easynet, the Pan-European broadband networking company, announced today
that it has signed a new long-term contract with Neos Networks Limited (a
subsidiary of Scottish and Southern Energy plc) for the provision of dark fibre

value of 14.9m, of which 11.3m is new business.

'It is good news for Easynet to get a quality customer like Neos which enables

'This is an important development for Neos,' commented Adrian Pike, Managing

the business following its acquisition by Scottish and Southern Energy. The dark

Up 4.5 now, good start to the day. I like the part about the 11.3m of the contract being new business.

proptrade - 10 Feb 2005 10:18 - 345 of 602

it only get better....and this isn't even an LLU stream contract! shame about the drop yesterday otherwise these would be at 120. have to wait until next week!

gavdfc - 10 Feb 2005 11:59 - 346 of 602

Agree we would have been in near 120's if it wasn't for the drop yesterday. The cycnical part of me thinks that someomne knew of this deal to be announced today, as the drop yesterday seemed to be way overdone. Also noticed a 400k trade yesterday, hmmm! Buyers seem to be coming back after todays fall back to 110 so hopefully we should move up later today.
