SUPERSCAPE - TECHNOLOGY FOR THE FUTURE. (SPS)

Happy1 - 03 Mar 2004 22:47

Superscape was founded nearly twenty years ago, and has been dedicated throughout its history to the development of ground-breaking software technology for the creation and delivery of innovative, high quality interactive 3D applications.
Over the years, Superscape has amassed unparalleled expertise and experience in the development of 3D software capable of working within the constraints of limited memory devices, slow processor speeds and strictly controlled file sizes.

Drawing on this knowledge, Superscape has established a world-leading position in the development of industry-standard 3D technology and applications for mobile devices. The company's Swerve technology has been developed specifically for wireless environments in close collaboration with ARM, and comprises a 3D engine (Swerve Client), authoring tools (Swerve Studio) and a broad portfolio of 3D content, with particular emphasis on 3D games. Swerve is being adopted on a global basis by many of the mobile industry's leading players, together with world-renowned content and brand organisations.

Superscape has corporate headquarters in Hook, Hampshire (UK) and San Clemente, California (USA) with regional offices in Tokyo and Sydney. The company is quoted on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: SPS).

Superscape (SPS) has received various tips in the press and by Analysts recently which will certainly give impetous to the share price. Indicators are looking good with the RSI rising off an oversold position and the MACD crossing showing BULLISH signs for the stock.

The mobile gaming market is still in it's infancy but the projected revenue is enormous. Mobile operators are looking at tapping the Gameboy market as they feel that users will not want to carry around a multitude of technology and if they have a mobile phone which can double as a gaming station than people will prefer this option.

People should also look at the recent contracts which SPS have signed for their technology. This is a technology company which could well be a great success in 2004.

Thanks Skids. They are licensing like crazy in the far east right now...obviously a smart focus as the region has the highest per capita gaming anywhere, even US and developed Europe (it is as much as 2x) and mobile handsets to tweens/teens is exploding. I think the potential is huge and the international dimension they are buiding very very fast to capitalise on first mover advantage. About time for them to raise their FY forecasts as most of this is revenue positive in the current year.

Time to buy at 60p now...looks cheap

BANKONE - 15 Dec 2004 09:13 - 330 of 707

Is this new hand held game station from Sony that was featured in some press articles yesterday going to have an adverse effect on this companies profitability. Apparently the Japanese were queuing all night for the equipment.
Reports went onto say that the equipment purchased in Japan retailing circa 160 were fetching in excess of 500 on ebay true or not what will be the effect of this competition

skids - 15 Dec 2004 10:07 - 331 of 707

Bankone,

I don't think there is any competition. Afterall SPS have a java standard agreed by Sun! They have also recently announced a partnership with ATI - one of the biggest grahics chips producers. Just my opinion of course, but SPS isn't just about games, its about 3D API's being available to mobile devices in the same way that PC's have great 3D graphics. SPS are just producing a std for small devices. But remember 3D isn't just games (look further than that).

i think SPS are overdue to provide an update and early indications of the impact the new standard phone sales are having on their revenues

Kivver - 15 Dec 2004 11:29 - 333 of 707

Im in sps but worried about the negative press about poor 3g sales, notice a good rebound in vodafone today though.

skids - 15 Dec 2004 11:35 - 334 of 707

Kivver,

SPS are not about 3G, it just so happens that the Swerve technology is coming out at the same time (i.e. on the same phones) as 3G. But it is not dependant on it. I believe SPS will make huge amounts of money from the Asia market with or without any European 3G support.

Skids can you explain the red and the blue lines in the graph please the ones under the green bar chart. Is it about to turn upwards and what happens to the price of the share once it does - bit green myself but willing to learn before investing in this one.

BANKONE,

Take a look at the link below for a full explanation. But my basic understanding is, it is to do with closing prices relative to opening prices. Indicating buying and selling trends I guess - not one I use, but it clearly shows that SPS has been an opportunity to make a quick buck several times being in for only a couple of weeks at a time (something I have taken advantage of). Having said that though, I think SPS are a good medium term bet and I still hold a small qty. But always do your own research.

BANKONE,
many of us use indicators to try and help us make desisions about investments however I beleive the best indicator is the price and trend, if the price is going up buy it and if its going down sell it. Keep it simple.

Kivver - 16 Dec 2004 21:53 - 339 of 707

The trend is your friend!!!!

sandrew64 - 22 Dec 2004 15:01 - 340 of 707

So what is going on with this sp? I thought these would be rocketing by now, or at least creeping up consistantly. What's happened? Do we need a trading update to shift this up again ,news of new contracts doesn't seem to be having much of an effect. Any thoughts anyone....you've all gone quiet...anyone still in?

skids - 22 Dec 2004 15:57 - 341 of 707

sandrew64,

patience. i take it the hike in the last 3 mths is not enough for you then?
sps is correctly valued at 60p, so we'll need a major new deal or some new figures about incoming revenues to hike it beyond that level (i have confidence this will happen by end of Jan).

I suspect we should receive news of revenues soon. 3G has been going for a month, so hopefully some figures of handsets sold should be released.
