ASOS: BUY AT LOW PRICE!!!! (ASC)

wilco99 - 12 Sep 2003 15:52

ASOS have dropped quite significantly in the past week for no particular reason and I view this as the perfect opportunity to invest as I can see them bouncing right back up to the 5.50p mark in the next 2-3 weeks. STRONG BUY!!

WOODIE - 19 Jan 2011 18:03 - 3270 of 5941

Jan 19, 2011 (MANAVIGATOR via COMTEX) -- Nick Robertson, the head of UK online fashion and beauty retailer ASOS (LON:ASC), said on Wednesday that Danish Bestseller, its main supplier and shareholder with 18.3%, may still take over the company, despite denying last year interest in making an offer. Robertson told Reuters in an interview that it would be a sensible step for Bestseller to boost its holding in ASOS, as the Danish group is not strong in online retail despite being a global fashion business. Over the past year, ASOS has been rumoured to be a takeover target for Bestseller, US Internet group Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN | PowerRating) and British retailer Tesco (LON:TSCO), speculation which caused its share price to triple over the period. ASOS shares jumped 3.6% today to GBP16.06 (USD25.65/EUR19.04) giving the company a value of GBO1.18bn, Reuters said. The CEO holds 10.4% in ASOS. Country: UK, Sector: Clothing/Textiles, Consumer Products, IT/Online Services Target: Asos PLC Buyer: Bestseller Type: Corporate acquisition Status: Bidding Comment: Asos CEO sees Bestseller as potential suitor

cynic - 20 Jan 2011 16:14 - 3277 of 5941

the timing on this one is very difficult to call, but i have flagged it well for all for some time

tomasz - 20 Jan 2011 17:03 - 3278 of 5941

tomasz - 21 Jan 2011 08:30 - 3280 of 5941

today start is out of order .

cynic - 21 Jan 2011 08:35 - 3281 of 5941

matter of opinion!

tomasz - 21 Jan 2011 08:47 - 3282 of 5941

you could'n know that china may rising rates yesterday and that one is affecting every growth business , could you , pure lucky coincident that you riding one.

cynic - 21 Jan 2011 08:54 - 3283 of 5941

you know my view on ASC ..... i think the concept and biz model are great BUT from my minimal experience, they do not deliver good quality AND i think sp is seriously over-valued with far too much future growth already factored in .... this latter makes sp seriously vulnerable if figures do not trounce expectations or if there is general market weakness

but as so often i could eaily be proven wrong - but then i regularly (prudently!) bank profits

required field - 21 Jan 2011 09:01 - 3284 of 5941

Frankly....(did not short as went into CEY instead)....it's a great little company but way overpriced...and how on earth do people choose clothes without trying them on.....if (like women are) fussy...you will be all the time returning the stuff by post or having to wait for deliveries....

cynic - 21 Jan 2011 09:02 - 3285 of 5941

and to make my point above ..... sp is now at 1500 (a possible "round number" support) and touching 50 dma, so have banked my profit and go back into watching mode as a bounce from here is very possible

tomasz - 21 Jan 2011 11:46 - 3286 of 5941

All these factors on your side, no matter how f.. surprise i am. all in all profit's talking so you got your voice. my november's closings average 89% instead of 130..

cynic - 21 Jan 2011 11:56 - 3287 of 5941

whatever that means! .... sp currently seems disinclined to go anywhere, so shall just watch - as i said

tomasz - 21 Jan 2011 12:50 - 3288 of 5941

Not so sure what you say there but i'll assume that something to do with capital preservation , easier at 15 level.

cynic - 21 Jan 2011 13:04 - 3289 of 5941

shall just keep my powder dry until trend establishes itself again ..... as i said, there could be decent bounce from here, but if 1500 breaks then there's at least 100p downside, but haven't looked properly as am just off to the airport for a flight to suprisingly cold saudi - what a treat!
