THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Hays thankyou for clarifying my earlier post........dirty old man LOL. But I was right then in my summation re- to you having children later than the norm in life. Nothing wrong with that, good on you.

Do not Know how near you are to a co-op store goldfinger, but they are often over looked. Looks like you can pick the choice of seat plans of your suite. May help you. Have a look under Home Furnishing/ Upholstery

I know it's boring, but the kit is good quality at a sensible price, and you can mix and match it.

edit: And you don't have to wait eight to ten weeks for delivery.

At and auction.

And then have it recovered.

thanks sticky - your contribution to that corner of the world well noted

cynic - 13 Nov 2013 07:28 - 32731 of 81564

how nice to encounter that rare beast of an honest politician, even if he has now retired to the Lords
Jack Straw openly admits that he (and the gov't of the time) completely screwed up with allowing open house for any EU citizen/worker back in 2004 - when even france and germany did not

as i think i have posted before, i would very much hope and indeed expect that i would have voted for JS had he been my mp, even if he is resides on the "other side"

Stan - 13 Nov 2013 07:55 - 32732 of 81564

I met Jack Straw briefly on a train before they came to power and we had a brief exchange of pleasantries, If I met him now those exchanges would not be so pleasant, and it would be nothing to do with Alf's above subject.

Ed: Anyone on here using the Reliance Bank? see my post 713 from last night.

Stan - if not re above, then why the discord?

Stan - 13 Nov 2013 08:14 - 32734 of 81564

Because he was and still is (as far as I can deduce) a member of that Tory Blue Labour lot who I despise.

cynic - 13 Nov 2013 08:26 - 32735 of 81564

an interesting colour combination!
in the instance of JS and one or two others, i would vote for the man and not his party, whichever party he happened to be attached to

McCluskey and Crowe and their ilk would never ever get my vote!

Stan - 13 Nov 2013 08:32 - 32736 of 81564

Straw typifies the Sycophantic Career Party Politician i.e. usually a member of the Legal, Accountancy or Journalistic Professions with a University Education to boot... A 1st class Crony.

cynic - 13 Nov 2013 09:14 - 32737 of 81564

what a bitter and closed mind you have to be sure ...... do you also carry a bag of potatoes? .... i rather think you do

MaxK - 13 Nov 2013 09:24 - 32738 of 81564

Bag of spuds?

cynic - 13 Nov 2013 09:32 - 32739 of 81564

huge chips on his shoulder(s) :-)

for all that, it seems to have worked, painful as it has been and may be for a while yet ..... despite the protestations of fred and a few others (like you?), the economy is picking up pretty fast and in its wake will come more employment (crap from fred and others ignored) which in due course becomes self-fulfilling ..... sunny and green-pastured (not green as in politics of jealousy) uplands can never be guaranteed as so many extraneous things can have a baleful effect
