Naughty, naughty ;)

Bob
I think I'll send 'em an email whilst I'm thinking about it.

Seymour
Would highly recommend you consider OCOs - especially if you can't/don't want to screen watch. It then comes down to picking the high/low that suits your analysis of recent moves. Personally, I go for 100 pips between them.

HILARY/ALL
I wouldn't want any one thinking that I'm doing well off my own bat. Hilary persuaded me to stick around when I was all for jacking in my FX trading - I just didn't seem to be getting my head around it. She suggested a strategy which I've adapted to my own style/level of risk so I seriously owe Hilary a large drink of something or other ;)

Oh well, it had to end sometime. Stopped out of my EUR/USD for -25 - and then it bounces a bit - bugger - but that's what it's there for.

Seymour Clearly - 03 Feb 2005 12:56 - 3293 of 11056

Thanks everyone, yes I am thinking of oco's which I have used well with stocks but even more vital with FX.

Davspeed, good to hear you're still around - I agree with everything you say. I've got into the habit of setting widish stops on stocks with smaller stakes & that works for me - much more profitable. Also using cmc s/b.

The other thought that occurs to me is if I (say) set a limit sell, I would place a stop buy above that as well so that a wild ride would take both out and protect me! Agree it's a good idea?

Really going for it now as I have a nice new laptop with lots of screen real estate - Chocolat eat your heart out ;-)

mg - 03 Feb 2005 13:02 - 3294 of 11056

Unusually quiet ;)

Classic case of a stop saving my bacon - don't I feel smug - BUT tempted to dip in on a long around 2990.

Correct, mg - that's where I shorted cable 18878...old bungee cat's been at it again and I ended up with a lapful of baked beans.

I'm off to work for less heckling :)

mg - 03 Feb 2005 14:09 - 3298 of 11056

Tasty moves you guys.

Must try the baked beans in the lap method - sounds a bit kinky though.

Now, I've got my hat - I'm off

chocolat - 03 Feb 2005 22:59 - 3305 of 11056

Heyyy...I get to have tomorrow off work. :))
And after it took a lot of convincing as to why the wheels came off the LMS train precariously perched on one shelf up in the eaves here...and why there are still a couple of beans stuck in the keyboard, I must've got something right this morning after all.

Lots of juicy stuff tomorrow..
