Wow.....what a day !!!

We've finally taken a small amount off the table at 363p (if only because the SOLA holding was getting so big as a percentage of the portfolio).

Marvellous stuff.

Well done, Ian - hope it's going to be reflected in your Christmas bonus!!

soul traders - 05 Dec 2006 15:04 - 331 of 3050

And there's yet more:

SOLA Bid: 385p Offer: 388p Change: 98.5

Flackwell Vialli - 05 Dec 2006 15:53 - 332 of 3050

Would have expected a 1 rise today, so weakness clearly there for all to see

lanayel - 05 Dec 2006 16:23 - 333 of 3050

Got some news .....

at least one Chinese orientated fund has been piling in today so any seller is able to get well above the bid price (at any time when the spread widens to 5p or more). If anything expect more strength in the share price (to 400p and beyond) before any serious profit taking sets in.

hlyeo98 - 05 Dec 2006 17:40 - 334 of 3050

Huge sells at the end of the day. SELL 6 million shares and BUY only 1 million shares, likely to move downwards tomorrow

soul traders - 05 Dec 2006 19:31 - 335 of 3050

SOLA Bid: 393p Offer: 395p Change: 106 (36% approx).

All that action and still no mention in the FT. What do they have to do - buy out Microsoft??

soul traders - 05 Dec 2006 19:37 - 336 of 3050

FWIW I think the price will be heading north again tomorrow (sorry to disagree with you HLYeo, but I also find Ian's argument more persuasive). Today's trading finished at the day's high; I'm not a chartist but it doesn't look like the bull run is over, and I suspect that anybody who didn't have access to their portfolio whilst at work will be placing buy orders overnight.

Given that the price target apparently published by Lemming Investor is 9 - 10 a share, that ought to mean the SP still has legs.

Can't wait for tomorrow, anyway!

pzedwards - 05 Dec 2006 20:45 - 337 of 3050

Lemming Investor are predicting 9 - 12 a share by mid 2008.

Dil - 05 Dec 2006 22:53 - 338 of 3050

hyleo ... do you ever get anything right ?

Price is a function of supply and demand , if six million were sold and 1 million were bought it would have gone down as you well know muppet.

You miss the latest rise then GF ?

Dil - 05 Dec 2006 22:56 - 339 of 3050

And I agree with that Paul Scott chap so only trading these on TA now :-)

goldfinger - 05 Dec 2006 23:06 - 340 of 3050

No probs Dil. well done to you and well done to others.

Dil - 05 Dec 2006 23:18 - 341 of 3050

No that was directed at hyleo not you GF except last question.

Just wondered if you got back in.

Dil - 05 Dec 2006 23:19 - 342 of 3050

Unless of course your hyleo.

lanayel - 06 Dec 2006 08:19 - 343 of 3050

The rise continues to over 440p !!!!!!!!!!!

Extraordinary performance and one occasion where the Bulletin Boards were miles ahead of the professionals.

Ian

Dil - 06 Dec 2006 08:25 - 344 of 3050

I'm out again , good luck all.

cynic - 06 Dec 2006 08:47 - 345 of 3050

is sp now entering land of fantasy? ...... great fear, at least for short term, is that profit takers will cause the price to plummet (relatively) .... a trailing stop could well be prudent, though if sp falls far enough (how far?), then that could also be deemed a new and sensible buying opportunity

soul traders - 06 Dec 2006 09:16 - 346 of 3050

Can't believe I sold so much of my stake just before this incredible rise. Boo-hoo, woe is me, etc.

Still, the stuff I have left in is worth three times what I paid for it :o)

SOLA Bid: 438p Offer: 440p Change: 45

cynic - 06 Dec 2006 09:37 - 347 of 3050

SOUL* ..... no one ever went broke taking a profit ...... which is what I have now done (430) ...... imo, the odds are much shorter on a reaction than on a continuing surge, but shall be watching closely with a view to buying back

fortitude18 - 06 Dec 2006 10:03 - 348 of 3050

this is getting silly now but a superb merdium term buy. Lemmings and SCSW called this with unnerving accuracy.

10 this time nest year is easily achievable but current mcap @ $860M is way ahead of itself
