Tanfield Group - any info out there? (TAN)

mr mike - 21 Jan 2004 13:49

Tanfield Group is the new company name of Comeleon. As I understand it, Comoleon was getting into trouble so TAN (paerent company?) took over. Since this has happened the share price has dropped by 0.25p each day for the last week or so (on average) and are now around the 3p mark with very little activity.

Does anyone know much about this company or previously held stock in Comeleon? There is virtually no info out there other than on the company website.

cheers

Mike

looks as though 50dma will converge with resistance at approx 168p, think this is as far as it will go until the credit problems are truly forgotten...

Top Ten Retail Investor Buys & Sells for week ending 31 August 2007
31 August 2007

Angus Rigby, Chief Executive Officer, TD Waterhouse, commented: Investor interest has been high in resource stocks this week, with a number of TD Waterhouse customers taking the opportunity to increase exposure to the oil and gas sector by buying heavily into Petrel Resources. Share price in the Company is hitting annual highs of 148.50p, up over 219 per cent this year on last.

However, some of our other customers took this opportunity to take profits with Meridian Petroleum and Max Petroleum reaching number six and eight respectively on our sells list. Share price in Meridian which is due to announce its interim results next Thursday is up over 5 per cent on last week, possibly boosted by reports that commercial sales at its Orion 36 well in Michigan; USA are exceeding initial expectations. Meanwhile, Max Petroleums share price continues to slump further from last week, down over 10 per cent, a slide of almost 50 per cent month on month.

Elsewhere on the markets, investors sold off stock in solar cell producer Renesola, the Company had recently warned that its financial target for the year could be adversely impacted by a cut in its 2007 production outlook. Profits were surging early this year but August sees share prices down by almost 50 per cent on July, slipping 7 per cent this week. Despite this fall, share growth in the Company is still up by over 70 per cent on the year after stellar gains from production capacity expansion and a number of sales contracts wins.

Is it just me or does the TAN chart look worryingly similar to the WNG one of a month or so back?

Hmmm.

cynic - 01 Sep 2007 10:09 - 332 of 1076

no idea, but i guess a grapefruit looks something like an orange too!

BigTed - 05 Sep 2007 08:56 - 333 of 1076

could today see a close above 160p? seems to be struggling at each increment of 10p...

BigTed - 18 Sep 2007 14:53 - 334 of 1076

lively this afternoon in the absence of no rns...

lanayel - 18 Sep 2007 16:15 - 335 of 1076

possibly due to interims scheduled for 25th September !!

cynic - 24 Sep 2007 11:07 - 336 of 1076

at long last, TAN has broken back quite decisively through a quite stubborn resistance at 160 = 50 dma ...... i wonder if it is too much to hope that the old high of 200 will soon be challenged>

Fred1new - 24 Sep 2007 12:31 - 337 of 1076

Wait for interims tomorrow. Probably drop back for a day or two before advancing. Very little volume to recent rises.

I intend holding this longterm in SIPP. probably for 2-3 years. Longterm holding is a bit unusual for me generally, but in this case unless they do something "dumb" should be one of those companies with an ongoing uptrend.

Big Al - 25 Sep 2007 07:42 - 338 of 1076

Profit up 3x, share price up 5x and mkt cap ~625m. Hmm.

cynic - 25 Sep 2007 07:58 - 339 of 1076

AL - the implied cynicism (lol!) is probably misplaced ...... if you read the whole statement, the forward growth projections are very bullish and the company is clearly a or even the market leader in its field ...... as sp movement is primarily based on sentiment, it is hard to see confidence in the company (sp!) being dented in the immediate future.

Big Al - 25 Sep 2007 08:10 - 340 of 1076

Just noticed the mkt cap as I was comparing the result. I don't care how good their growth is or might be, this is a hefty price for what they're managing to return.

I remain cynical and sceptical. ;-))

The integration of Snorkel International has progressed very smoothly and we can

through supply chain synergies with our established powered access operation,
UpRight.

We have strengthened the management team, grown the forward order book and
worked extensively with our supply chain to gear up for increased volume, in
both Powered Access and Zero Emission Vehicles. The foundations are now in place
for further strong, organic growth in the second half of 2007 and beyond

cynic - 02 Oct 2007 10:29 - 343 of 1076

i rather like the loom fo the chart, as shown below ..... sp twice bounced off 25 dma; it then just pierced 50 dma and paused for breath and has now shot away with considerable impetus and unusually heavy volume ...... next hurdle is the very obvious all-time high of 200/205

Juzzle - 08 Oct 2007 15:34 - 345 of 1076

Expecting news from California within a few weeks (8 at the very most) regarding commencement of US production of electric vehicles there - with some impressive headline-grabbing US publicity attached ;o)

And a few weeks into the new year, a publicity push with specific regard to zero emission airport vehicles.
