Stanelco sees future with growing confidence; ASDA GREENSEAL trial encouraging
AFX
LONDON (AFX) - Stanelco PLC chairman Philip Lovegrove told the annual general meeting that the company 'looks to the future with increasing confidence' thanks to progress with new products and a number of others in development.
He said at the forefront of developments has been Stanelco's GREENSEAL lid-sealing technology, which continues to move towards full commercialisation after 'very encouraging' feedback from its initial trials at Youngs Bluecrest, a leading supplier to ASDA Stores Ltd.

Mes amities / Bonsoir mes amies ,tu es la?,j'espere...Alors ! .Have yet to analyise the actaul semantics of the RNS ; { SD is somewhat of an expert, l suspect, in decyphering plattitudes and deriving reason and logic from pure rhetoric and verbosity. . .ln addition i await "our representatives comments" and his eyeball to eyeball inquisition with Balchin @ co with interest ... But upon first glance the RNS was more or less what i suspected. l never saw a need for an RNS anyway .Nothing new here. Usual jargon .Or perhaps the other shareholders are not as errudite or astute as some of our boys; and need informing of that which thier companies does ....and quite well apparently i am told. ,,,hehe !! Extremely lnteresting be the fact that SEO themselves have a self perception of that of a an "interlectual properties" group now rather than a constituient in the electrical/ mechanical engineering sector( if given a main listing) .That in itself demands Mr.market views SEO in a different light altogether . Quite significantly "hi tec" is making a massive comeback in terms of IPO s,heavy lnstitutional buying and new found popularity among serious players. . .The market has quite a diferent attitude to the "hi tec " sector and that of engineering groups . Anyway time will tell. l suspect" speculators " expected a lot more and will have had thier fingers burnt. But quite irrelavent to what the rns said , or didnt say, is the simple blatently obvious fact that a certain anonomous party is slowly and by stealth accumulating a principal interest in SEO..Behind the scenes , by stealth, and what is extremely gauling - on the cheap ! The mms are getting it both ways so as to not give the game away . On the entire flight from Frankfurt yesterday i poured over all trades ( Level 11 ) regarding SEO ; and NO amount of of persuading will change my mind. .There is a "shark " snapping up those sells ,,,, l mean you dont need a wether vane to know which way the wind is blowing when sitting among a sea of "red" are isolated blobs of blue. all considerable, and more interestingly, broker to broker or mm to mm transactions .,,On Reuters i noticed more than a few cases, reported later to the market, and marked as "SELLS" when they are in fact "BUYS" . ....,,,,,,,",,Barons, Knights, Squires, archers - ,,,,,,,Prepare for battle ...........",.......a/b ,,,,bonne chance :+ J ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,> Aside ,,,..Roly !! Fab news on CEY huh? ...

A few ponts re AGM. As announcement. Very upbeat concerning completed trial with Youngs- 'exceeding expectations through a wide range of products.' The two further trials have not yet begun but are expected to in the next couple of weeks. An office has been opened in Florida. 'We will be presenting to Wal-Mart through ASDA' an outcome to these negotiations expected 'in months rather than years' (This regarding outlets in USA, Germany and Mexico).
A meeting took place with Sainsbury a couple of weeks ago and 'they loved it.'
U S engineers arriving within the week.
All I can think of at the moment.

Interesting post, TFC. I also though the intellectual property point very interesting. The major money on GREENSEAL will come from royalties.licence fees in second and subsequent years: this is why SEO is likely to be in the FTSE100 in two or three years time. It is noticeable that they are even farming out the manufacture of R/F units for GREENSEAL, at least abroad to Advanced. I find that very impressive.
Your other point is also interesting re the soaking up of stock by an acquistive source. But, if they have more than 3%, wouldn't that imply an RNS? Or am I being naive? for instance, they could be hidden away in various different pots. Interesting that noggidynoggin demonstrates his naivety with socks on with his comment re R/F furnaces being SEOs core business. What stone has he beenhiding under for the last few years?
A final point about the statement is that there is no reason why it should contain real news: we have had plenty of that; an AGM is on a pre-determined date, so the statement is just filling out old news with further RNSs to come when there are announcements to make.
bos: no doubt you've seen the MoneyAM challenge. As I see it, you could invest 100% in SEO. If so, we should all call foul, or just undercut yoi in price and do the same thing! lol! Now bos in reverse says 'sob'; change one letter and you have 'soe'; change the sequence and you have 'seo'. Which goes to prove that if you split bos in pieces, he would have the letters SEO running through him just like a stick of Blackpool rock! rofl!

Amities ,,,,Doncaster ?? Oh do behave . Who even knows where Doncaster is located. Now be honest . Come on now ,, Why not London ,? Mind you what with Blair & his maniacs allowing 1 million people into this country you are, more as not, quite likely to be accosted by some passing Azeri ,Armenian, Bengali, Pakistani, lndian , Latvian, or Jamaican or some equally undesirable types from some equally undesirable places . So upon reflection , perhaps Docaster is preferable .... .,,,But a million extra people in a mere 8 years .A trojan horse by any other name . ,,.,,,,,,,,utterly disgusted Anyway ill be sailing the 7 seas on "STAN" <- my yaucht to be @+ J,,,,,,,Any-one know ? - is sailing easy ? ,,,,,,,,,,,....

So what has changed? No one expected the shares to jump to 1 after todays meeting. It was just a general update. Most of us holders are quite happy to sit on our shares and wait. At least things are moving along in the right direction. There has been a very good increase in a short space of time. I'm sure we will see an even bigger increase in a years time. Good luck to other holders who are sitting on a big profit.

Stanelco AGM
For those unable to get there and who are not therefore the proud owner of a sample of frogpack this is some feedback:
Chairman; very cautious (probably rightly so) and backed by some good independent NEDs. Made a point of saying that he will always err on the cautious side in any statements put out by the company and on my assessment of him today I would believe that. He has a lot of City experience and a reputation to maintain, and just seems that kind of person.
Confirmed that their business model was following their plan and the first ASDA customer trial with Youngs Bluecrest Seafood had produced results in excess of their expectations. Whether the other two trials will still be deemed necessary in the light of this there were some hopes that a decision to press ahead may be made without waiting for these to happen. The 12 month exclusivity clock with Asda in the UK starts ticking the moment the first order is signed; so if Youngs go ahead, which there seems every belief they will, then there would seem to be an advantage to Asda to assist an earlier roll-out.
Engineers from Premier and Advanced Engineering are already in the UK being trained. These arrangements sufficient to cope with US demand; UK demand can be handled by existing staff.
Walmart presentation in USA and Germany will take place shortly. Walmart also has 1000 stores in Mexico.
A big selling point for Walmart is that they could reorganise their in-house butchery business using the longer shelf life that RF packaging would give them. In common with all other users, not only would they get the cost and environmental advantages but also cut the waste/carcase (reckoned to be as high as 20% with normal packaging).Meat apparently changes colour after 5 days, making it unattractive for sale, even though it is still edible. 3 of those 5 days are lost in the distribution chain, so shops have only a limited period to sell it. RF extends the 5 days to 15 days.
Company believed to be adequately funded for their business model; no further calls for cash unless the business becomes overwhelmed by demand way beyond their expectations.
The Board and employees, as a result of todays resolutions (all passed), can now be properly incentivised via a share ownership scheme.
Litigation: 3 disputes; SEO has won the IPR/patent battle for two; the third is the subject of an imminent appeal hearing which quite naturally SEO expect to win. Work on the products involved (capsules) is being given lower priority pending the outcome as there is sufficient to keep everyone going on the RF front.
Howard White, whose family foundation owns 25.77% , is spearheading the US roll-out and looks to be a long term shareholder. Comparison with Tetrapack; I think his view is that the range and versatility of SEOs products give it a far greater potential.
Competition: They have not come across anyone in the same field; ultrasonics are apparently too expensive. Any new RF entrant would need deep pockets since SEO could just see them off with an aggressive pricing policy.
As for the big question, the share price, the chairman seemed surprised that it had travelled so fast; I dont think the other directors were. By his own admission he is a cautious individual. So I suspect it may linger around its current level plus or minus 10% until the next announcement which could occur at any time from now on. The great thing about SEO is that it has so many potential world beating products that at any time it will have the capability to announce a blue sky deal and when it does any statement will have the credibility to really move the price. Not a shorters share in my opinion.
Hope that helps.Thats my reputation on the line!

evening all . i have copied this from a poster called camilla on iii. hope she doesn't mind.
"I went to the AGM this morning. Here are some thoughts:
The chairman,Philip Lovegrove, said they had signed the deal with Asda because Asda was the company that was prepared to move fastest. But he said the other supermarkets were "all still there, sniffing around."
Beyond the trial with Youngs Bluecrest, a further trial with another Asda supplier should be beginning next week with a third one starting in two to four weeks. It's possible that Asda might make a full commitment to Stanelco before all three trials are completed.
Howard White (deputy Ceo) has opened a small office in the US to push things on with Walmart. Mr White pointed out that Walmart isn't just a US business, it also has strong operations in Germany and Mexico and Stanelco will be presenting to those parts of Walmart too.
The interesting thing about the US is that US supermarkets are apparently behind the UK when it comes to selling meat in stores. Apparently most US stores still have in-store butchers where the meat is carved up and the bones are removed and so forth. In the UK that work is now mostly done at depots operated by suppliers to Asda/Tesco whoever.
Walmart is now beginning to switch over to packaging meat away from the store, and that means it's a very auspicious time to pitch to Walmart. Apparently the other US stores are not so advanced in making that switch. Ian Balchin, the ceo, said that Walmart was watching Asda closely.
Terry Robins, the COO, also emphasised to me that meat isn't the only area for Stanelco to attack in this area. Ready meals is a fast growing area.......
What about competition?
Ian Balchin said he was looking out for competition and hadn't seen it yet. He added: " if we stand still someone will catch up."
A poster on Advfn has suggested that Stanelco's technology could be superseded by "ultimate radiation." Balchin was sceptical about this, pointing out that the issue of electromagnetic emissions would then emerge (as with mobile phones.)
Bioprogress
Needless to say, Stanelco think they're going to win the appeal in the patent action. If they don't win, Balchin said that the edible capsule business would be put under review. The company will look to invest in whatever parts of the business where it can obtain the greatest return for shareholders. The capsule business is pretty much on hold until the litigation is finished.
Funding
The chairman gave a heavy hint that the company would probably do another fund raising at some point. This would boost working capital as the company expanded. He said he didn't like debt.
They were showing a short video on Frogpak. They put a champagne bottle in a frogpak and dropped it from a helicopter. The champagne bottle survived in tact when the packet was opened on the ground. So that was impressive.
I came away from the meeting pretty confident about the company's future. What I need to think more about is valuation."
i really don't think there is anything to worry about. the company is successfully making the switch from engineering to an intellectual property business. there are massive potential revenue streams in the technology that they have. trials are more successful than anticipated and seo are now ready to make presentations to a very serious player, walmart. when you think about it, does it get any fucking better than SEO!!!!!!!!

Great post, Sharesure - thanks very much. Very much in line with expectations but fills in some details. The impression is that we are nearing the end of Phase 1, putting everything in place; phase 2 is the roll out. Seems, the next RNS will probably be the confirmation of first ASDA orders.
Have there been paid for deliveries. What about the earleir deals reported?
