Fred1new - 31 Oct 2004 17:08

Any punters living in Birmingham Area interested in a Pie, Pint and jaw, one evening in a pub in Birmingham area.
Personally interested in small time investing(gambling), developing an appetite for CFDs. Also developing an interest in Charting or TA.

I use Sharescope, Moneyam, Barclays, Comdirect and IC

Hi Fred & Stan ,

Thanks for your replies ..... No hurry .... Can wait until more convenient time for Stan
Some Wednesdays are OK .... Some Saturday 'mornings' are OK..... although would prefer a Saturday ....
My availability depends on family commitments - although usually know at least a week or two in advance of my freedom....
Happy with either City Centre or has anyone tried The Barton Arms:

Stan - 18 May 2007 09:06 - 333 of 1427

The Barton Arms Is a fabulous place (credit due to Oakham brewery) for refurbish.

Unfortunatley It's In a relativly dodgey area for security, I'm thinking of car parking here.

I'm easy but Depends If car travellers want to take the risk.

Stan and Survivor, would prefer Wednesday at about 5pm the The Old Joint Stock (Pub). (Temple Row opposite the Birmingham Cathedrals entrance.)

It has a power point and tables and seemed friendly.

I should be able to get there with my Zimmer frame.

Name your dates and times for the future.

Regards.

Fred1new - 19 May 2007 13:22 - 335 of 1427

Survivor, if you set your email connection up through Moneyam I will e-mail you. Don't put it on the thread though.

Stan - 19 May 2007 19:00 - 336 of 1427

Can't make It for this Wed. but probably OK for Wed. 30th May (Week after).

Fred1new - 19 May 2007 20:33 - 337 of 1427

I think that will be OK for me.

Right survivor?

survived87 - 22 May 2007 15:06 - 338 of 1427

Agreed re the Barton Arms in the twilight hours might be a bit iffy - but I've had no problems in daytime (weekdays and weekends). As regards parking, easiest way is get one of the frequent busses from the City Centre. As you're aware the beer is good there and also the Thai food.

I'm OK for most Wednesdays at the other suggested location / time (17.00 City Centre) - but unfortunately not Wednesday of next week as it's half-term. If there is any Wednesday in June you want to meet up then let me know as all clear then .... ?
Regards...

Fred1new - 22 May 2007 15:13 - 339 of 1427

Stan, NAME YOUR date and time? But would prefer The OLD joint Stock.

Stan - 22 May 2007 18:24 - 340 of 1427

OK, Old Joint Stock at 5pm (I can get there for 4 If agreeable) on Wed. 13th June.

How does that sound chaps?

Fred1new - 22 May 2007 18:30 - 341 of 1427

Now I have problems.

Might not survive that long! 8-)

Look forward to meeting again.

The topics I e-mailed you any thoughts, but with the market as it is at the moment, could be out of date by then.

E-mail me comments.

Stan - 22 May 2007 19:01 - 342 of 1427

Email sent Fred, by the way I have assumed that you are a male Surviver.

Fred1new - 23 May 2007 11:59 - 343 of 1427

Topics, which we could think about..

1) how long will the Bull continue to run
2) Stop losses , based on range support lines, percentages or luck
3) which would be the best defensive stocks
4) are CFDs or sharebets of value in changing trends
5) Any room for high yield stocks in a portfolio
6) Any room for gilts and bonds

Any stockbrokers grumbles?

survived87 - 23 May 2007 19:09 - 344 of 1427

Hi, I should actually be able to make that if you don't mind me joining you....
5pm is OK - but more than happy to make it earlier i.e. 4 as suggested by Stan as a possibility....
PS Correct - I'm male .... and my moneyam e-mail is set-up now...
Are there only three moneyam BB users in / around this "vibrant and cultural hotspot". (Quote from the new Lonely Planet guide to Great Britain).

Fred1new - 23 May 2007 19:24 - 345 of 1427

I am happy to make it 4pm if Stan is agreable.

Stan - 23 May 2007 20:44 - 346 of 1427

4pm It Is then.

Regarding numbers we have had enquirers In the past but so far It's been just a couple of us as regulars.

Look forward to the 13th June at 4pm.

survived87 - 24 May 2007 15:38 - 347 of 1427

& let's 'hope' the weather then will be the same as presently this Thursday afternoon...... nice, sunny & thirst stimulating .....

Fred1new - 04 Jun 2007 14:48 - 348 of 1427

Ain't it quiet!
I am wondering! again!

I have been looking at data supplied by various platforms on loan stock, futures and options wondering! how to interpret the data and what the significance the information might have to trading and long term investing maybe.

Hopefull that you two can supply the answers on the 12th.

Stan - 04 Jun 2007 17:08 - 349 of 1427

Hopefull's the right word where I'm concerned on the stats and tables -): however we will have a gander and hope that S87 can add some light.

Oh and Is It not the 13th Fred?

Fred1new - 04 Jun 2007 18:10 - 350 of 1427

Stan, Apologies. Just getting excited. Mind I am usually late so this is good sign.

The 13/6/07 at 4pm at the Old Joint Stock

Stan - 06 Jun 2007 23:37 - 351 of 1427
