evening all . i have copied this from a poster called camilla on iii. hope she doesn't mind.

"I went to the AGM this morning. Here are some thoughts:

The chairman,Philip Lovegrove, said they had signed the deal with Asda because Asda was the company that was prepared to move fastest. But he said the other supermarkets were "all still there, sniffing around."

Beyond the trial with Youngs Bluecrest, a further trial with another Asda supplier should be beginning next week with a third one starting in two to four weeks. It's possible that Asda might make a full commitment to Stanelco before all three trials are completed.

Howard White (deputy Ceo) has opened a small office in the US to push things on with Walmart. Mr White pointed out that Walmart isn't just a US business, it also has strong operations in Germany and Mexico and Stanelco will be presenting to those parts of Walmart too.

The interesting thing about the US is that US supermarkets are apparently behind the UK when it comes to selling meat in stores. Apparently most US stores still have in-store butchers where the meat is carved up and the bones are removed and so forth. In the UK that work is now mostly done at depots operated by suppliers to Asda/Tesco whoever.

Walmart is now beginning to switch over to packaging meat away from the store, and that means it's a very auspicious time to pitch to Walmart. Apparently the other US stores are not so advanced in making that switch. Ian Balchin, the ceo, said that Walmart was watching Asda closely.

Terry Robins, the COO, also emphasised to me that meat isn't the only area for Stanelco to attack in this area. Ready meals is a fast growing area.......

What about competition?

Ian Balchin said he was looking out for competition and hadn't seen it yet. He added: " if we stand still someone will catch up."

A poster on Advfn has suggested that Stanelco's technology could be superseded by "ultimate radiation." Balchin was sceptical about this, pointing out that the issue of electromagnetic emissions would then emerge (as with mobile phones.)

Bioprogress

Needless to say, Stanelco think they're going to win the appeal in the patent action. If they don't win, Balchin said that the edible capsule business would be put under review. The company will look to invest in whatever parts of the business where it can obtain the greatest return for shareholders. The capsule business is pretty much on hold until the litigation is finished.

Funding

The chairman gave a heavy hint that the company would probably do another fund raising at some point. This would boost working capital as the company expanded. He said he didn't like debt.

They were showing a short video on Frogpak. They put a champagne bottle in a frogpak and dropped it from a helicopter. The champagne bottle survived in tact when the packet was opened on the ground. So that was impressive.

I came away from the meeting pretty confident about the company's future. What I need to think more about is valuation."

i really don't think there is anything to worry about. the company is successfully making the switch from engineering to an intellectual property business. there are massive potential revenue streams in the technology that they have. trials are more successful than anticipated and seo are now ready to make presentations to a very serious player, walmart. when you think about it, does it get any fucking better than SEO!!!!!!!!

Great post, Sharesure - thanks very much. Very much in line with expectations but fills in some details. The impression is that we are nearing the end of Phase 1, putting everything in place; phase 2 is the roll out. Seems, the next RNS will probably be the confirmation of first ASDA orders.

Have there been paid for deliveries. What about the earleir deals reported?

bosley - 22 Apr 2005 18:41 - 3335 of 27111

well done sharesure. great post.

stockdog - 22 Apr 2005 19:40 - 3336 of 27111

Thanks sharesure and camilla bosley (hey, nice moniker!).

They say that a share price climbs a mountain of worry. The only reason it doesn't get to the top is that something stops it. There is nothing stopping SEO - not a single but or if, just "excuse us, we're busy climbing a steep hill, we'll keep you informed as we make progress". Not one trial has come back with less than results exceeding expectations.

Only area of divergence between ss and camilla's report was the fund-raising issue. So, they may want to raise more capital - first one to decline the rights issue gets a prize - don't think I'll be needing to buy one, do you. Bring it on, if they need it.

OK, eric, I'm off to me basket for the next 4 weeks. Wake me up as we pass 30p so I can pay my respects. I'm ordering a new bone for the 50p piss up.

SD

EWRobson - 22 Apr 2005 19:47 - 3337 of 27111

I always knew sd was a basket case! So bos is related to the Duchess of Cornwall. Amazing what you learn on this board! Mind, Camilla's language would appear to suit bos rather than Charles.

Sharesure: can you clarify the fund-raising issue? I doubt whether it will be that big, anyway. Linked to my previous question re paid installations for some of the earlier RNS clients. Do you have any other comments on Camilla's revelations? It appears that SEO are not hiding behind patents but rather seeking to exploit their market lead as quickly as possible before competition emerges.

Crazi
it is not what was in the agm statement it is what was not in the statement
as an agm statement it leaves a lot to be desired and shows the incompetence of all you pi's for not questioning what the board has refused to tell you all in the agm statement and did you know that they tried to have the agm behind closed doors and did not want my man to attend
they must have thought that he was going to ask some embarrassing questions
a bit like this thread don't you think

Sharesure
Again Great post, Sharesure - thanks very much, very good report back.

bosley - 22 Apr 2005 20:52 - 3340 of 27111

i'll tell you what wasn't in the statement. there was no mention of any doubts concerning asda. there was no mention of failed trials. there was no mention of seo being a one horse company. there was also absolutely no mention whatsoever of any chance of failure.
what has become clear since this morning is that since the company changed tack a few years ago from being a straight rf/welding company to being an ip company they have taken huge and very important strides.
they have faced problems head on and dealt with them. every step of the way they have kept shareholders informed. now the real momentum begins as ideas become deals. and does it get any bigger than asda? before anyone says tesco...they were too slow. now seo have revealed they are going for walmart. the potential is quite phenominal just from this one revenue stream!!

aparrently ek wrote this.

"as an agm statement it leaves a lot to be desired and shows the incompetence of all you pi's for not questioning what the board has refused to tell you"

i agree 100%. taken from dosum's post 3317

"A meeting took place with Sainsbury a couple of weeks ago and 'they loved it.'"

did nobody ask the board what the meeting was about!!!!!!??? what is the "it" that they love? please , dosum , details.........
and as for fund raising, i hope this time we get a bite at the apple and it isn't a placing.

Frogpack Helicopter Product Testing

Watch this amazing footage as a bottle of champagne is dropped from a height of 50ft, 100ft and 200ft from a moving helicopter and survives un marked

Very good Driver...very entertaining. I could do with some Frogpacks to deliver paintings from my website...problem is they are all different sizes.
Al in all it just shows that IMHO we should keep SEO as a long term play...imagine in a few years we could be talking about 5 or more a share :-)

Not really surprising though Bosley.

I'm with Andysmith from a few days ago on this one. You either buy into the blue sky scenario here or you are cautious and you don't. End of.

For the record (not that anyone cares ;)), I don't, based on fundamentals, turnover, profit etc. So sit back and watch the herd buy in and the sp fly!

EWRobson - 22 Apr 2005 22:34 - 3346 of 27111

A bit cautious, di, once the royalties start to bite we'll get 5 sooner than you think.

zscrooge: have you looked a the effect of royalties on earnings: either look at Evolution or earlier posts by andysmith and myself. If you do, let me know what you think, please!

Eric

bosley - 22 Apr 2005 22:50 - 3347 of 27111

zscrooge, not surprising at all . the point i was trying to get across was that there is nothing negative to report. the trials are exceeding expectations, other potential revenue streams are coming to market, and they are in discussions with other supermarkets. it's all good. at the time though ,the blood was up. even my finger was wagging at the screen.
di, what website is that?

dosum - 22 Apr 2005 23:14 - 3348 of 27111

bosley.
"they loved it", was refering to green-seal. The quote was in response to the question- was Sainsbury still in the frame? Lovegrove added that ASDA just happened to be first to get down to the spondula. Not quite his words but to that effect. The general indication was that discussions are ongoing with Sainsbury and other potential UK users.
Hope of some use.
Regards.

bosley - 22 Apr 2005 23:22 - 3349 of 27111

dosum, thanks for reply. just wanted to be sure that seo weren't pitching different products at different supermarkets....like greenseal for asda and starch trays for sainsburys. did you get your free frogpack then?

stockdog - 22 Apr 2005 23:49 - 3350 of 27111

Great rhyme, sd, I like it. I note that I get the gammon and bos the spinach, which he needs to build his strength up for his drums and the golf day. You presumably are the roly poly, probably because you are fond of puddings, or anything else you can get to fall off the table! Is that anything to do with the roly poly pudding and pie who kissed the girls and made them cry?

dosum - 23 Apr 2005 02:03 - 3352 of 27111

bosley.
Passed on frogpack having retired from jumping out of aeroplanes.
