This board has been a little to quiet for while.
Is it time that Bush and Blair who is a close friend and confidant of Bush were tried for War Crimes?
Do you think the use by the American Administrations of renditions are War Crimes and committed with full knowledge of American and British leaders ie. Blair and Bush and they are ultimately responsible?
Also in the aftermath of the illegal invasion of Iraq are should their action seen to be as the provocation for the rising toll of British, American and Iraqi deaths.
As a result of the military intervention in Iraq do you think you are safer in Britain to-day?
Do you think one should expect government leaders and ministers who have been responsible for massive foreseeable casualties should visit the hospitals to meet the casualties they have produced directly or indirectly by their actions?

Latest reports suggest that the video we have seen is the final bit of a video in the possession of the BBC which shows the compound under mortar attack, and the accused soldiers rushing out to detain those responsible, before rushing back in again with the youths on the video.
Not trying to justify, but as I said earlier, there may be mitigating circumstances. At any rate, it seems not to be the random violence, in the name of thuggery, suggested by the media.

Actually I think that Blair has a dreadful Co.Durham accent.
and
brianboru- exactly the BBC which hadn`t the balls to show the cartoons, beyond a fleeting moment, is quite happy to risk the lives of both our troops and other Westeners. The BBC needs cleaning out from top to bottom, perhaps the head of Fox news would do the job, the words ` loyalty to ones country` don`t feature in their contract of employment, but there again the majority of them aren`t from our country, and there lies the problem.
The BBC Govorner for the `English` regions is an Indian born bloke, now one has to be careful, racism is eveywhere, but let me say this,if I applied for the post of Regional Head of all the various bits of Radio &TV India I would not be surprised to receive the reply -"Fcuk off, what would you an English born bloke know of our culture, religions, accents, dialects etc", but there again I wouldn`t have the audacity to apply.
These people are in power at the beeb for 10 year contracts.

Bling - "When the Army guys who gave the teenagers a kicking (2 years back?) are brought to trial- and I bet 100% they will be found guilty-can we please forget Asia Minor for a week or so and have the media, government, judiciary, loony-left etc., give the same prominence to the UK muggings, happy slappings etc.,then build some more prisons, and make our streets as safe as they once were." Excellent Point.... However prison isn't the answer, I'd like to see National Service brought back but as part-punishment with existing programmes. It may well yet prove to be the force to break some criminals ways.

They are trying to win the hearts and minds of the Iraqis and Palestinians.
I do hope there is something in the saying "as you sow, so will you reap.
This applies to Bush and Blair. I wonder if it would be possible to bring them to the Hague for Trial for "war crimes".

40 to 50 iragis being killed every day, the very reason millions of us didnt want our troops to get involved. They have the toughest if not an impossible job of bringing all these different factions together and now looking like we our slowly going to get our troops out and leave them on get on with it.
Im learning a lot about people and all this trust in god business. Good friends of mine recently had a kitchen fitted in the middle of nowhere in wales. Everyday the bloke doing the job talked about god, going to church on sundays and quoting the bible. It turned out the stuff he was using was discontinued seconds!! In the end he did a runner with all the money and not finishing the job. There is no eveidence of wher he lives. 2 years later the units are falling to bits, all the paint/vinyl is peeling off, the cooker is melting the fridge etc etc. I wonder if god will judge him.
Also read the the axm thread where onechunkymonkey tried the same tactic and told me, he and jiggles where different people. OCM said he was going away but biggles as disappeared to. People who do this are disgrace.

It is alright, Tony will solve the Iraq problem by appointing leading Iraqis to the House of Lords (for a small share of Oil Funds). Of course the palace will be rather full with Cherie and all the Bush Administration accept their places.
The properties being bought by in London are for temporary housing for the political Iraqi asylum seekers.

Always the devils advocate, maestro, I could make an entirely convincing (and fictitious) film showing how just and deserved the war was. Its not quite Empirical Evidence.
Despite all the debate, I am yet to understand how the world would have been a better, more just place, with that cuddly little rogue Saddam still in place.
Those against the war argue such things as Truth, Justice and Freedom. The sun will rise tomorrow and truth will be as slippery and hard to find as ever, I doubt there will be an awful lot of Justice in the world and I am certain you will not find freedom. However i am equally certain that Saddam will be under lock and key, and we are all better for it.
Dont forget. the atrocities you read about every day, of market places car bombed and police stations torched are perpetrated by other Iraqis. Not the allies. The airstrikes and attacks are done to bring these atrocities to an end.
To read some of the media (and some of the posts on here) you would think the CIA are crawling around Iraq, with heavy suntans and wearing a dish-dash, planting bombs everywhere.

alan...yes but was it worth mudering 3000 in the twin towers to get rid of Saddam...ask that to the people who lost loved ones in the twin towers...by the way the film is full of factual evidence unlike the 9/11 Commission report that was drawn up by crooked masons and bent politicians

The film is full of ALLEGEDLY factual evidence.
One of the things that would have prevented Saddam and Iraq from ever becoming a real nightmare is the legal ability to challenge the regime in an independant court of law, and if not in that country, then in an independant one. A challange in Iraq would lead to a very short and predictable future.
The argument put forward then is simple. if the film is true and the commission false, then why is the most litagious country in the world not full of challenges to the authorities? Why is our beloved UK not hauled before the multitudes of European legal beaurocrats?
because there is no evidence at all worth answering.
For those that believe it is all a big put up, by sunglassed men in smokey rooms, I leave you to your JFK theories and working out what really happened at Roswell. No amount of debate will convince you otherwise.

WTC7 building was not hit by a plane yet fell in 8 seconds ...what more proof do you need?..that one event should sentence the US Conspirators to a long jail sentence or lethal injection...tell me how did a bunch of ragheads manage to 'pull' the WTC7 BUILDING without getting caught?...did they parachute out of the planes just before impact and then somehow guided themselves on top of WTC7 and then planted bombs from their rucksacks?
