Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Balls speech brilliant today, Osbourne was very poor.
Already experts have found out that no provision has been made for funding of childrens school dinners for the three Years they get them.
What a shambles.
Giddeon again making a balls up.

Ed Balls - with apologies to Shakespeare for the edit - a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

Hays question.???????
Your the expert on IT. I have a lap top which is getting signal from my PC s ariel ie, that little box which gets the signal from Virgin.
Just lately it keeps dropping the line, ie it just goes blank immediatly and I then have to power up again sometimes it works sometimes not.
Checked all plugs leads etc to make sure they are in.
Any idea what this problem could be and would my local IT technician probably be able to fix it???????. Economically that is or does it want binning.
Your help would be greatly appreciated. cheers

This sounds like a fault in the laptop unrelated to the internet connection.
It is difficult to fault find at a distance. I would take it to a technician. How old old and share its specs (model, processor, memory, disk).
To paraphrase Patrick Bateman, I have to go and rehydrate some porcini mushrooms.

May be a faulty connection inside. Memory faults can cause this. You could try removing the memory and reseating it.

GF,
Before you bin your machine, check your line in from BT with somebody else's laptop.
I had similar problems and the IP wanted to flog me everything under the sun until I got them to get a Electrician to shin up the pole outside my house and replace old length.,
No problems for 2 -3 years until recently, when I think they have change the nearby station.
