PATHETIC..............
Three England players appear in a ranking of the richest 10 players taking part in the World Cup. This makes England the strongest performer in the tournament’s wealth league. Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard appear in the top 10, which was compiled by Wealth-X. The Guardian.......................ends
wouldnt pay any of them peanuts.

Now your talking my language Goldfinger - mind you if we had a GB team we could incluide - Gareth Bale, and ..................?. Mind you at least he would also be in the top 10 you so correctly list.
Dont you just hate "market forces" as a so called reason - Give all agents a "Red" card and it might help to bring some sense to the out of hand money, money, money which has ruined the game.

Well Oak it certainly turned me against Rooney when he held the club to ransom a SECOND time. No way would he be at Old Trafford if I was the boss, Id have snapped Chelseas hand off at £30 million and said good luck I hope you enjoy paying a now moderate footballer £300 grand per week.

Strange isnt it well not strange but silly, if we lose to Costa Rica today we will probably be the worst performing team at the World Cup BUT have 3 of the top 10 paid players in the World Cup!!!!!!!!!!!!! wheres the logic in that?.

he he, corker off twitter here below........
Fred Boycott @FredBoycott
We should play Costa Rica at cricket and Sri Lanka at football. That would give us an outside chance of winning one of the games.

gf - Don't be a PLASTIC, support the team win or lose :O) Team in transition up to English FA to pull their finger out and enforce change to support the manager.
How kin hypocritical are you supporting a premiership club who will not only will spend millions in the transfer market but will probably add to the problem re stupid wages.
7th in the Prem, not in Europe. Let's buy a team! HYPOCRITE!!!!

Beforehand it was, "Are you f.....g ready?"
"You bet I'm f.....g ready!"
But now England midfielder Steven Gerrard has been left 'broken' and will be on the bench considering his International future for England's last World Cup 2014 competition game against Costa Rica.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/players/steven-gerrard/10918859/England-midfielder-Steven-Gerrard-left-broken-and-on-bench-for-final-World-Cup-2014-game-against-Costa-Rica.html
Lampard will take the captain's role.
Is it worth it for these guys? Not if it goes wrong.
If it does go right then you might get glorified with your own statue on a square in front of your club's main entrance.
Will it ever go right for Gerrard again? Most likely it will not. I doubt we will ever see him as an International England player ever again. And I'm sad about it. He is a fine captain and one of the very best.
It will be utterly difficult enough for this fine sportsman to go back to Liverpool and play at the side of Suarez once again. So what will happen there?

Chris thats a bit rich your above post, If I remember correctly UTD were only 5th in the league for transfers last season and most of that was on that long haired plonker you sold us.
AND lets not forget WE WON THE LEAGUE WITH A BUNCH OF KIDS, kids who I might add have been around for years up until this last season and all from the youth team.
So go away and rethink your inacurate post up above.
Please also get your specs out their is no bigger critic of Wayne Rooney on his over inflated salary than me.
I wanted shut of him last season or have you conveniently forgotten.
And last but not least Man Utds % of transfer fees as a % of total revenue is the lowest in the league, so please please get your facts right before shouting off.

Question is for how long will the market (us the supporters (mugs), put up with this nonsense.
1969 - Goodison Park only:- Admission Paddock two shillings and sixpence, pint of beer one shilling and tuppence.
2014 - Cheapest ticket £25 no doubt with an obstructed view, pint of beer outside the ground £3.80
And that is cheap compared to London.
Factor in largest transfer fee £100,00 to today Gareth Bale Different planet.

Well yes I totaly agree but to suggest its Utd leading the pack is totaly wrong, look no further than Man City and Chelski, even liverpool this last season. They are the BOUGHT TEAMS.
And dont forget Utds admission fees and tickets have been very reasonable compared to the top clubs in the premiership and top teams in europe.

Chris I can let you in on a insider secret we may spend a lot but are looking to get at least 50% back from players leaving the club.
You have to net transfers off dont forget.
Anyway it should be looked over say a 5 year period and I bet after this period we wont be in the top 4 for net transfers.
