Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

i wasn't but my grandparents were, but they came in legally and didn't claim benefits - there were none in ~1910 ... also, i'm pretty certain that one lot got dumped in L'pool instead of NY which is what they had paid for (in stowage)

i am pretty certain that in those days that jewish immigrants (they were predominantly ashkenazi) looked to their own community for help and of course being obliged to forge one's own way was a great incentive

not true in either the jewish or asian communities for sure, though with intermarriage and peeps moving to new jobs all over the country or indeed the world, cohesion of the unit must inevitably weaken ..... there's good and bad news in there
