Nothing Ventured vs Fastrade (NV)

guysands - 20 Oct 2003 12:51

Arrrggggghhh!

Help! Anyone out there a previous Nothing Ventured user? They've sold out to Fastrade and we've all been moved over to that site.

What a mess - this Fastrade site is crap. I'm so pissed off I can hardly type this message. NV was such a brilliant trading tool and now we've got this. What the hell are they playing at. Couldn't those numbskulls at Charlse Stanley see that the NV site was much superior to their own and use that instead and just stick their Fastrade badge onto it.

Any ex-NV users please let me know what your thoughts are today.

I intend to email this thread to Fastrade at the end of the day to let them know what we think - so please write down all you can about what you think of Fastrade.

Maybe, just maybe we can convince them to use the NV platform instead of of this junk, although it is a long shot and we will probably end up leaving in search of a better service.

In that respect please give recommendatios of other services you may have found which you feel are as good as NV.

LIST OF THOSE WISHING TO LEAVE FASTRADE:

Been looking at the 'director buys' feature copied from the nothing-ventured website.

Thought I would test it with a company director buy which I know happened:

Eckoh Technologies PLC
13 October 2003

Eckoh Technologies plc (the 'Company')

Director Shareholding

The Company was today informed that, Mr Nik Philpot, a director of the Company,
purchased on 10 October 2003, 100,000 ordinary shares of 0.25p each in the
Company ('Ordinary Shares') at 14p per share.

Following this transaction, Mr Philpot has a beneficial interest in 2,282,861
Ordinary Shares, which represents approximately 0.9 per cent. of the Company's
issued ordinary share capital.

This information is provided by RNS
The company news service from the London Stock Exchange

Well as far as Fastrades 'Director Buy' tool is concerned the last director buy was on 6th December 2002!!!!

In fact there have been three more since then and none of them are mentioned.

Oh dear, oh dear......

It looks like not only is Fastrade a diabolical website but you can't even trust its research tools either.

It goes from bad to worse......

RTD has put on 10% today - but does it come up on the leader board on Fastrades super streaming like it would have with NV?

Does it heck.

Well done Fastrade: RTD is breaking out but because your research tools are so hopeless no one is any the wiser.

In the NV days I would have had Super Streaming set to 'All Stocks'-last 15 minutes. Then every nowand then I would click on refresh to see if anything was suddenly shooting up. That way I could see stocks which were suddenly breaking out or responding well to good news. It was excellent amd allowed you to quickly get on board rising stocks.

Not so with Fastrade.

What a load of bollocks.....

With the demise of Nothing Ventured I was approached recently by a former user who was looking for some software to replace the NV leaders board. He had spotted some sample screen shots that I had posted on a web site some months
previous of a system that I had developed for my own use. Although it does not have the capability of scanning the whole of the FTSE it is capable of tracking up to 200 user defined stocks in realtime and provides for automatic generation of alerts, breakouts, reversal signals etc

If anybody else is interested then drop me an e-mail through the Money AM e-mail system. I would mention that the system would only be of interest to serious traders that spend most of the day at their trading desks.

Anyone here using Fastrade these days, if so how do you find it for bigger trades and trading generally? i.e. over 30K in one trade.

Straight forward share dealing and not S.Betting and CFDs.
