How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Kernow

doesnt matter what price he was lol:

Howell, who opened with a 74, suffered an injury to his left oblique muscle while hitting balls on the practice range prior to the start of his second round. He withdrew 27 minutes prior to his tee time at 8:17 a.m. EDT.

Jiminez and Clark both going to miss the cut

3 cracking bets from me - none make it to the weekend - glad they were only to very small stakes.

Has to be said im glad i wasnt laying woods or singh from the start though may get stuck in later in the tournament

Morning all

Lions looked way too short at 1.13 before kick off against otago. Lions putting out a second string - would this side really win 7 times out of 8. Wasnt with it early enough so only got to lay at 1.19

Dil - 18 Jun 2005 08:33 - 3416 of 10502

Me too , green now.

And backed Otago +17 and green on that.

Going to enjoy the match now , hope the Lions get stuffed :-)

Dil - 18 Jun 2005 08:34 - 3417 of 10502

Fundy , before kick off the Lions were 1/10 with Victor Chandler.

Lol , can't see why after first quarter.

Fundamentalist - 18 Jun 2005 08:35 - 3418 of 10502

Dil

greened up at 1.4, just laid again when it went 6-6

the side the lions have got out is poor

Dil - 18 Jun 2005 08:44 - 3419 of 10502

I blame the coach :-)

Fundamentalist - 18 Jun 2005 08:47 - 3420 of 10502

I know you do Dil :-)

even greener now

Dil - 18 Jun 2005 08:48 - 3421 of 10502

I aint risking a bloody penny on our shower , lay , lay , lay ... lol.

Fundamentalist - 18 Jun 2005 08:52 - 3422 of 10502

Dil

have to admit i did pause before greening up - was tempted to let it run

Fundamentalist - 18 Jun 2005 08:53 - 3423 of 10502

Good decision me - may be time to lay again now though :-)

Fundamentalist - 18 Jun 2005 08:55 - 3424 of 10502

Dil

how much money could you have made on this tour on back draw at half time -this must be the third or fourth already

Scripophilist - 18 Jun 2005 09:07 - 3425 of 10502

Damn looked like I need to get up earlier. Anyhow off down the beach today with the kids, so no trading for me today.

Fundamentalist - 18 Jun 2005 09:10 - 3426 of 10502

Scrip

every wednesday and saturday 8.10 - few more weeks yet :-)

have a good day at the beach - ive got to spend most of it stripping the exterior woodwork at the house :-(

Williams a lucky boy to stay on the park

Dil - 18 Jun 2005 09:13 - 3427 of 10502

Yep your missing a cracker here Scrip.

Just lay the Lions before the kick off ... count to 10 after kick off then back them :-)

All the home teams are going to come out fired up while the Lions look as though they are on holiday.

Dil - 18 Jun 2005 10:04 - 3428 of 10502

Nice mornings work , was sweating on Otago +17.5 for a while near the end but alls well that ends well.

Trust you had a good one too Fundy.

Fundamentalist - 18 Jun 2005 16:37 - 3429 of 10502

Dil

had 2 successful bites at laying the lions - thatll do me nicely - what was the price in +17.5 market?

Fundamentalist - 18 Jun 2005 17:24 - 3430 of 10502

Australia v Bangladesh in the cricket today.

Australia had over 1.5m matched at 1.04 or less:

1.01 671,802
1.02 555,898
1.03 236,195
1.04 107,995

Bangladesh are 168-3 needing 82 to win off 11 overs. Australia are now trading at 1.20 and i bet a few are starting to worry

Fundamentalist - 18 Jun 2005 17:26 - 3431 of 10502

now 73 off 10 overs and Australia now 1.31

Fundamentalist - 18 Jun 2005 17:30 - 3432 of 10502

now 63 off 9 overs and Australia 1.5

starting to look value in the aussies - any wicket now and the odds will halve at least

Fundamentalist - 18 Jun 2005 17:35 - 3433 of 10502

now 56 off 8 and Australia 2.1

I cant believe i have just seen Bangladesh trade at odds on to beat Australia in a cricket match (matched at 170 earlier in the day)
