Snowball im also short from 9751...the last hour is always decisve move for the DOW...tmorrow I see the ftse up am and some of the techies also...dont hold any...
Shorted Hilton AND TOMKINS...today. Tech stocks I just want to watch at the moment, some rising on little volume...retail investors buying on downside, but they could easily go down 5/10 % if US market turns...
Since starting CFD's only seen a rising market so far...I hope the South spirral begins soon... lots to learn...but it must be a pleasure to see DOW dive 150 points and not cringe...
nite all..!

I'm hoping the Nov future hits 9700 tomorrow, Jules.
I've noticed that when these retracements happen there is a strong
down day like Friday, followed by a bounce like today and then, often
there is another down day of at least 50 points.
But, of course, it doesn't happen every time.
If it doesn't break below 9700 tomorrow I expect it to reverse again.
But what do I know.

snoball,
hopefully right call, there must have been some new highs from todays rise...but profiteering has to take place big soon...the dow rise has been meteoric, 500-600 points in 2 weeks or about that...has to fall back big short term..
Just feel it's too soon for it to hit the 10000 mark...running away without foundation...

hi everyone:-))
closed the last long off late last night at 9780 (opened at 9713) ie 67 pts gain and made a tidy sum.
I opened a short dec DOW at 9774.
What do you think we are in for today?
My opinion is that it is going to trek north then there is going to be decline and support of levels and consolidation.
Jules - I agree with your analysis that it has gone fwd too quick. The market is ahead of itself and there is going to be some serious retracement and profit taking.
So be careful -let the market dictate our actions dont pre-empt any moves.

Snoball I should have mentioned it was on the Dec Dow. and in reality reached near enough to 9702 but i guess i bottled out.
How are your trades the trin was around 0.96 at pre-open 2.15pm gmt and steady around there. So suggests bullish area despite mixed market
I have got 2 longs open at present and hope can fulfill them before day is out.

I've moved my stop down to break even as I don't think this looks
bearish enough.
Let the market decide.

Ask me who is as sick as a parrot. Down 119 as I speak.
It just illustrates the point that it is the trader not the system that needs the most work.

zarif, sympathy appreciated.
what's needed is a kick up the backside.
Where next, well 9630 is the 38% Fib retracement from the high on 15th.
9563 is the next one below that. (50%)
Nice work and leave some over from Las Vegas to start again.
Edit: Correction, 9613 is the 38% Fib & 9540 is the 50%.

Hi all...missed the fun today...shorts still in place...closed some at 9594 today.
I must warn others who are thinking of trading with CMC it in my opinion the worst in terms of how they skew the dow/ftse indices as they see fit...their quotes are always quoted in their favour without question and change them, depending on what the client might ask for...the spreads get worst as the market gallops, they are always different to what is actually happening, I cant beleive they are allowed to get away with this...to this date.
I asked for a quote late in the market an hr before close...the first quote they offered I asked for 20 cfd contracts, the reply was at that price I could only purchase 5 CFD's...
If i wanted more than 5CFD's then a higher quote/price was given...I thought about what she had just said...and asked for a refresh at a different level...She replied she didn't do refresh's...I mean the dow per sec right...?
Once I can clear out my positions in the next 2 weeks I will seek to move on without doubt...
One month is more than enough with CMC...their trading practices should be monitored by the FSA...I am very appalled, and understand the complaints that folks have made now.
Plse try CMC for a month and I think you will know what I mean exactly...
By the way well done zarif...
Zarif do u trade DOW by placing orders via internet with IG..? Reason being with CMC as soon as the market opens Down, and you phone to place order or ask for a quote they quote you something like 40 points down, i.e it would be impossible to go short at 9720 even if I tried, did you place short order at 14.30 as market opened or way before...? and do you trade Dow future after hrs...?
Snoball how about you..via telephone?
Also snoball sympathy from myself...
Keep well...apologies about questions...

Jules - I've just read through your post re CMC's Deal4Free and many of us have been there. All it takes is a quick look at IB or similar futures trading platform to realise that you are missing out on fabulous opportunities to get long or short by using CMC. From what I've picked up on in your posts, I think you deserve better.
