Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Claret Dragon - 24 Jun 2016 11:19 - 3436 of 12628

What level does the pound need to drop to before an Interest rate rıse to support ıt.? Any thoughts.

VICTIM - 24 Jun 2016 11:35 - 3437 of 12628

The referendum will go down in history that Cameron leader and Right wing of the Tory Party were responsible for exiting the EU in 2016.

The referendum was initiated by Cameron as a stunt to maintain himself in his and an attempt to reunite a split Conservative party and split ideology at the expense of the “public purse”.

It was ill-conceived and unfortunately the UK will continue to pay for the bill for actions.

I hope that my expectations for the next 5-10 years are wrong.

-=-=-=-=

Just heard Boris and Gov saying that Cameron is a principled, honourable and brave man.

I need a “god” to protect me from such, if they are right.

The rats have started to fight for “power” and Dave is ducking out of the chaos which he has partially created for the UK.

-=====-===
I wonder when the next General Election will be?

Who will the “public” vote to be the next bunch of incompetents in “political power” of the UK “gravy train”?
-====--

Well, the "leavers" have won and can chant “we have won”.

A bit like Europe in 1945 after “winning” WW2 and then looking around at the carnage.

well fred, you didn't even bother to cast a vote - as of course is your democratic right!

however, much as you might like to blame DC - of course you do - your red buddy corbyn who was meant to spearhead the remain campaign for labour was almost nowhere to be seen
reports are that that had a significant impact

nor should it be forgotten that much blame should also be laid at the doors of the eu plutocrats who were (and remain) completely intransigent in their total refusal to see, let alone admit, that the eu needs root and branch reform

Claret Dragon - 24 Jun 2016 11:49 - 3441 of 12628

The vote wasnt about Red Or Blue. It was about keepıng a modıcum of a country we know wether you are from the shıres or an ınner cıty.

VICTIM - 24 Jun 2016 11:51 - 3442 of 12628

Well Freda you told us all the immigrants would vote Remain but as a big Leave vote came from the Midlands which i would presume is large on Immigrants , you got that wrong . You said the markets favoured the Remain , you bragged about the betting in favour of Remain . Then YOU yes YOU had an oppertunity to vote for Remain , but did you . The last person on here to moan is YOU .

Fred i expected nothing less from you ,that comment above just shows how ignorant you are , you lost again now get over it .

ExecLine - 24 Jun 2016 11:59 - 3444 of 12628

I regret not putting some big money on Leave last night but at 7 (or 8) to 1 it just felt like it would be chucking it away.

Conversely, to make a profit betting the other way, and for Remain, only meant a small profit return for a large bet.

In the end I just couldn't be arsed with doing either.

But thinking about it, some must have lost an absolute stonking fortune betting on Remain during the last 48 hrs or so.

Chris Carson - 24 Jun 2016 12:05 - 3445 of 12628

A new Conservative leader Freda, bring it on! Hope Jezza stays but if the Labour Party keep him they are doomed. We need a strong govt and a credible opposition. Independence Day! Fabulous.

ExecLine - 24 Jun 2016 12:05 - 3446 of 12628

It would appear that our friend(?), Jean Claude Juncker, wants the process for the UK to leave the EU to start immediately.

One can tell how he's a politician and not a business man.

Are they really our friends and allies? I fear not.

Chris Carson - 24 Jun 2016 12:09 - 3447 of 12628

Shock Horror!! Motion of no confidence in Jeremy Corbyn issued :0)

ExecLine - 24 Jun 2016 12:10 - 3448 of 12628

Serves him right for not getting a proper suit and doing up his tie, IMHO.

cynic - 24 Jun 2016 12:15 - 3449 of 12628

Missing nothing on this site. The intellectual capacities of chairs. Think Pyrrhic Victory. Look it up if need be.

iturama - 24 Jun 2016 13:03 - 3454 of 12628

ooh we have an intellectual. Must have an O Level

jimmy b - 24 Jun 2016 13:03 - 3455 of 12628

A Pyrrhic victory is a victory that inflicts such a devastating toll on the victor that it is tantamount to defeat. Someone who wins a Pyrrhic victory has been victorious in some way. However, the heavy toll negates any sense of achievement or profit. Another term for this would be "hollow victory".

Maybe it's you that has the the intellectual capacities of chairs lian !
