Just read the article in Shares and it presents a very bullish picture of this company, with a target price raised to 47p. I would have thought with a hike in profits of 180% and exposure into Germany, giving them exposure in the 5 major makets (UK, US, GErmany,France & Japan) that this was slightly undervaluing this company.

With some good names in the stable and the recent new editions of Basil Brush commissioned by the BBC(with the potential of more as they have a contract with the BBC until 2010), plus the takeover potential make me a long term holder of this stock, with my gut feel for the price being closer to 55p.

Couldnt agree more with all the new deals done and more to come the sp will inevitably rise over 2006.

Have looked further at the article in Shares which is very bullish of the share and the forthcoming results. Then I flicked to the forthcoming results page at the back of the addition and they were not quite so bullish about the prospects for the results. Surprising when you consider the expectations are for a big jump in profits.

suprised there is not more interest following the shares mag article, it got me interested. anyone think a rise will come 2morrow if the results are as good as expected??

Welcome aboard that makes four of us on this thread with Kivver on the fence may be he will dip his toe after the results tomorrow, I. sure they will live up to the citys expectation with ERT having plenty of positive things to say.

cbeebies at half seven in the morning.....you dont know what your missing (ok maybe you do !!!). Think little red tractor belongs to ERT to (7.45 cbeebies just started!) so at least there will be more to talk about than Pat on here soon... i just cant wait...ZZZzzzzzz...

173 percent increase and the share price drops...... Maybe false accounting on Pats behalf cos theres no way a postmans salary buys private plates like PAT 1 unless hes on the take :+)

As you say mp excellent set of results 173% up not many companies can beat that ERT will continue to grow through out 2006 and the sp will steadily rise slowly but surely, and dont forget theres always a possible take over or bid lurking in the wings.

Owner of Postman Pat delivers 172% increase in profit

POSTMAN PAT helped to deliver record results for his owner Entertainment Rights (ER) yesterday.

ER, the intellectual property group that also owns the rights to Basil Brush and Little Red Tractor, said yesterday that pre-tax profits jumped 172 per cent to 6 million in 2005, and turnover increased 21 per cent to 30.7 million.

Mike Heap, the chief executive, said that Postman Pat had been an important factor behind the strong results. The character is seen in the five largest pre-school markets America, Japan, Britain, Germany and France and in more than 100 countries around the world.

However, ERs shares fell 1.25p to 37.25p, a move thought to be linked to a possible downgrade to earnings because of a higher tax charge.

The group also announced a deal with the United States Postal Service, where Postman Pat has been recruited to encourage children in Washington to write letters.

The success of the character also prompted an announcement that ER has been commissioned by the BBC to create a new series starring Pats cat, Jess, who will speak for the first time. Mr Heap said that he hoped to find the same success with Postman Pat as the group had with Rupert Bear, which ER acquired in October. An animated series is in production and is expected to air in autumn.

Mr Heap refused to rule out an approach for Chorion, the owner of Noddy, although he said that this was not on the agenda. Chorion is the subject of a management buyout led by its chairman, Lord Waheed Alli, and funded by 3i, the private equity firm.

ER said that it would not declare a dividend for the year.
