Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

The following stocks are missing historical intraday data :

BSVN
PYF
BYOT
AGCV
STR
BNK

LBE
TNG
CYBS
OCH
SGH
STEM
SEC
RHM
OXN

IFDC
LTR
AAU
IMY

SOI
UBT
PGO
AAZ
KPR
RRR
RUS
SCT
SXX

I really do not understand why it is so difficult for you to add new admissions to your intraday chart stock list.

Surely if you compare epic codes in your database from one day to the next then they will be detected. It's not rocket science !

IanT(MoneyAM) - 03 Aug 2005 12:49 - 3445 of 7315

qwento,

I will pass this onto James and JT - they are working on issues surrounding the charts, and I will get them to post here when they have reolved these issues,

Something has happened to your streaming data !

The open values are completely incorrect - they were OK earlier.

As an example take a look at AV. (Aviva) Open was 657.5 - you are now showing it as 647.85.

On stockwatch, all the total trade volumes appear to be wrong (way too low)

Also, when in stockwatch, if i click on a chart icon the chart doesnt appear for up to the current date (ie DNX)

Mr Magoo - 03 Aug 2005 13:17 - 3451 of 7315

seems like volumes all went back to zero, started again about 12:30 guess

IanT(MoneyAM) - 03 Aug 2005 13:18 - 3452 of 7315

Mr Magoo,

This is being investigated by our suppliers,

Ian

IanT(MoneyAM) - 03 Aug 2005 13:50 - 3453 of 7315

Our suppliers have confirmed that they did have a breif break in service which is what has reset the volumes and open prices. Theya re still loking into this,

I will let you know when they have come back to me,

Ian

qwento,

re post 3444 where you say:

'I really do not understand why it is so difficult for you to add new admissions to your intraday chart stock list.

Surely if you compare epic codes in your database from one day to the next then they will be detected. It's not rocket science !

If it were that easy, don't you think we'd have done that already?

J.

qwento - 03 Aug 2005 14:32 - 3455 of 7315

With the greatest respect Jonathan, when a stock is reported to you it is up and running in no time.

Quite what is the difference between someone reporting a missing stock and you finding it for yourself ?

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 03 Aug 2005 14:57 - 3456 of 7315

qwento,

We have a table listing 40,000 securities. We only want to take intraday snapshots of a small subset of those (about 3500 stocks). If we snapshot all of them then the amount of data stored would be in the tens of gigabytes.

New entries to that table more often than not are not wanted for intraday purposes.

As such, your magical method of:
'Surely if you compare epic codes in your database from one day to the next then they will be detected. It's not rocket science !'

falls on its arse and will cause problems for us.

This is why we don't do that.

How to do it has been discussed at length by a number of us and as yet we haven't come up with a satisfactory solution. As soon as we do come up with a solution, it'll be put in place.

J.

qwento - 03 Aug 2005 14:59 - 3457 of 7315

OK Jonathan, thanks for the reply.

Here at my rocket laboratory I will post new admissions each day for you - I don't miss many.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 03 Aug 2005 15:11 - 3458 of 7315

qwento,

The lists you send are very useful for us, and I'm going to try and get a workable solution to this within the next few weeks, it isn't an acceptable situation at the moment.

J.

James(MoneyAM) - 03 Aug 2005 15:13 - 3459 of 7315

Hi qwento,

I've kicked off intraday charts for the epics on your list ;-)

Cheers, James.

qwento - 03 Aug 2005 15:13 - 3460 of 7315

What is interesting is that your end of day data download, although not fit for man nor beast in it's current form, does however contain new stock admissions on the day of admission.

Perhaps the logic used to extract the 2900 odd items from your database could be utilised as the basis for the comparison ?

Only a suggestion !
