Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

many thanks DC ..... assuredly MrT should read the whole, but the essence is "From all of the foregoing, we learn that donating and transfusing blood will be permissible in cases of need and necessity"
thus, it also implicitly explains why a muslim should not take money for the sale of alcohol, nor presumably, if read correctly, for the sale of pork products or tobacco

Personally, if I want a blood transfusion I would eat some Black Pudding or Boudin sausage.
But you never know what the riff raff put in their sausages

A bit like the Bullingdon Club with hashish added.
We should have known with their rituals of trashing other people's properties that they would trash the UK.

Anyway, with that reminder from Fred the Red, I wish all (including Manuel) a Happy and PNY.
Manuel, where is my bloody drink gone?
Have you drank the last drop again?

One of our Christmas turkeys came to the house in a merc taxi this year. lol . To cut a long story short every ingredient for Christmas lunch is pre ordered at Marks and picked up yesterday, except the turkeys. I think they are about £50 each from Marks, so they are pre ordered from Sains. On getting the box home and opening there was only two not three. On the phone and told them they can deliver it. Half hour later a Merc taxi turns up with the turkey and a free botttle of wine with an apology from the store manager. There was a grin on the drivers face. :-))
Ps A bottle of red Australian shiraz and the biggest laugh was no bill came for the third turkey. Merry Christmas all.

You think shopping for online bargains isn't in the festive spirit? Taxman reveals 1,548 people filed their tax return last Christmas Day
Online tax: 80% now file their tax return online - but it's not clear how Santa chooses to do it.

the hotels in dubai etc are generally managed by Europeans or other expats from south Africa or similar and more lowly positions by phillipinos or similar
Fred
despite our significant differences, though is suspect you often play games for effect, i would not actually wish you dead - or at least not until the new year, so as to drag it out a bit
last night it was 2005 gevrey chambertin, but tonight is a black tie dinner where tables/families are mixed up, so we'll drink the hotels offerings ..... however, I have brought down some 1963 dows and cockburns one of which I daresay will be opened for post-prandials with the friends who are here

I just bought a bottle of red Sancerre, which is often difficult to get.
I have been unable to buy Marie Brizard anisette. I am told that the Marie Brizard liqueurs are not imported any more. I don't know if you have had any of them, but they are the best liqueur company, closely followed by Bols.

All I have is plonk.
Thank god for the poor taste which my wife says I have.
=====
The one who must be obeyed earlier on to day, ask me if I would drop her off in town.
With a smile I said of course, but added under my breath, which building!
She heard me.
Even now, at my age, you can understand why I am looking for a fourth wife.
Preferably, one which is deaf.

Ps.
The last time I wore a tie of any sort was at a funeral about 15 years ago.
It felt a little like a noose and felt lucky to get home.
