Floated at 120p on June 08 raising 33.6m to fund the development of a fertiliser factory, has used $5.9m for adquisitions September 08 and said it still had $26.9m left at 30 June 09.

The company has a phosphorous rock deposit in Kazakhstan totalling 800 million tonnes capable of producing fertilisers for the next 56 years.
The deposit lies in a flat lying position on the Kazakh steppes close to surface so will be cheap to mine and the world still needs fertilisers.
Positive points
1. Shallow - 1 to 3m depth. Ultra low cost to extract.
2. Close to Tengiz oil field which has high sulphur content, hence cheap source of sulphuric acid.
3. Located at junction of two main railway lines giving direct access to Russia/China.

Sunkar is suppose to be one of the lowest cost producers in the World at sub $125 per DAP (die-ammonium phosphate) tonne. The average is circa $200 with some producers as high as $300.
The case for phosphate deposits is population growth means more agriculture means more fertiliser needed in the future.
RESUME SKR produce phosphate for DAP fertilizer and have licenses and acrage in Kurdistan to last 50-70yrs producing in excess of 100M tonnes of raw material each year. 160m shares in issue, directors own a significant chunk. Also they have a cheap source of sulphur required to produce the DAP

I don't think there is anybody here who gives a tinkers damn about the ones who bought at 120.
What matters is what is going to happen next.
The way I see it ,as the need for fertilizers is paramount to increasing food production , the prospects are fantastic. Seeing the bigger picture here is far more important . If a partner is needed for expansion I see no problem.

my interest in SKR is relatively passing, but am i not correct in thinking that their deposits are very low grade and difficult?

also, this is far from being either the only mine in the world, and as you should know, phosphates can and do cause all sorts of other damage .....

i'm no chemist, so i'ld be very interested to know quite how one makes ammonium phosphate or nitrates ..... as i understand it, ammonia is the key in providing the nitrogen

Fair enough questions to which I am afraid that I cannot answerr. However, the following remarks from SKR's own site look to be very much in its favour.

Target capacity 0.8Mtpa of P2O5 (1.75 Mtpa of DAP)
Resource Base of 800Mt of ore at 10% P2O5 with one of the lowest extraction cost per unit of P2O5 in the World
Sulphur, the second most important component, is 500km away by rail 2.5 Mtpa of landlocked sulphur produced per annum
Existing infrastructure and labour pool
Located at back door to China ($20 per tonne away by rail from western China border) + promising captive markets locally: KZ & RU are both World top-10 grain producers

It would however be good to have the views of somebody in the know with no vested interest!
