og, sorry i could not come back to you y'day. Of course China is actively looking to become more self sufficient on oil supplies-like everybody else. Big difference though between looking and finding economically viable deposits. With regard to OPEC production it is my view -shared by others- that OPEC is in no rush to produce more liquid gold as its reserves are no longer increasing.
A more feasible scenario is that that they will produce just about enough to obtain both highest possible prices without plunging world economies in a recession.
Please also note that the US$ has fallen by approx 25-30% versus the main currencies so the impact of crude at $50 p/bbl on non US economies is less severe than in the USA itself.

apparantly the nasdaq hit a low point so i guess tim freeborn's initial observation that
"along with the malaise affecting anything tech-related"
could explain todays drop.

i am monitoring 26 stocks across most sectors and the great majority of flashes are blue.......heres hoping that is a signal that the market is turning up.

Thats amazing, superrod! 4 out of 50 on the challenge portfolio are blue. May be because your across sectors: I see the FTSE100 is slightly up whereas AIM is down 5%. Most of us are the champions of the smaller, up and coming stocks! Perhaps they're all going! Apart from SEO that is!

That explains stockdog's trip to Rhodes - he has had a dogation from the Age of Reason Foundation of 10M shares on account of being cleverest dog of the year. Mind, he might have taken his masters and mistresses!
The SEO sp has held up well given the tricky m,arket and the advers balance of trades. Hopefully we will get the ASDA deal finally put to bed next week with some more positive noises.

I think the point of the 10m gift might be not to whom, but that it reduced a 25.5% holding to less than 25% which is a significant number in stock owning terms, I think.
Ancient city of Rhodes looked stunning in the afternoon sun today. Generally a tough day's work I should say.

driver , you aint getting any sympathy from me. you've just had three months off work!!!!
not the best of weeks for seo but we shouldn't be too despondant as the sp was 17p a month ago!! we really should be used to this by now; bursts of excitement followed by a tranquil calm and nervous anticipation of the next rns.
everyone have a great weekend ( apart from driver:) ).

I am working all weekend! but not Monday.
Being bounced round half an island by a Rhodeo driver from 7.30am till lunch time is no way to spend a Saturday morning. Wall to wall meetings with half the islanders who claim to have been hired, but no one has ever met before, and a lot of Romans and Israelis also trying to get in on the act can also count towards stress levels of an afternnon. Travelling home by ponyjet via Athens is no way to spend a Sunday. Ah! the glamour of show biz - give me packaging any day, it's alot more profitable for a start.
But I am looking forward to a decent dinner tonight at a great fish restaurant in the old town. Might even smash a few plates.
To give SEO its due, it has been remarkably resilient in a nasty market thie last two weeks. Holding tight for next week.
See you all in Blighty on Tuesday
