markusantonius - 14 Feb 2006 21:35

* M0NEY-AM G0LF DAY EVENT: 27 HOLES, INCL. SUSTENANCE & PRIZES (IN ADDITION TO M0NEY-AM SPONSORED PRIZES!) on: -
THURSDAY, 08 JUNE, 2006 *

So several months have passed... Based on the success of last Summer's Event at Longcliffe G.C., a few of you have asked me to take over the reigns from PTH and organise another G0LF M0NEY-AM DAY again based in the MIDLANDS. This is fairEST to the majority coming from all over the UK! From initial feedback (reflecting on 2005 36-Hole hot mid-Summer's day!), the popular view for a 2006 Event has been agreed, as follows: -

* Tea/Coffee on arrival.
* 9 Holes (4BBB 3/4 Stab.) Comp.
* Sandwiches/Lunch.
** 18 Holes (MAIN INDIVIDUAL (FULL HANDICAP) STABLEFORD EVENT) with M-AM and Golfing Prizes for Winners, incl. "Nearest-to-the-Pin" on the 9th. Hole and "The-Longest-Drive" on the 18th. Hole.
* 3-Course Evening Dinner (full waitress service), incl. coffee & mints + Prize Presentation/Mic. Table.

(** ADDITIONAL PRIZES from our generous SPONSORS include: - 3 months worth of Shares Magazine sent to the homes of EACH COMPETITOR every week. The Overall Winner will get The Money-AM Annual Golf Challenge Cup to keep for good plus 1 year's worth of Money-AM Level 2 service worth 357.50 + Vat. The Runner-Up and Third Placed Winners will each get a medal to keep plus 6 months' level 2.)

Venue: - H0RSLEY L0DGE G.C., Belper, Derbyshire (Championship Meadowland Course with American-type Greens). Refreshments will be in the On-Site Kingfisher Restaurant. Entry Fee is: - 60 per Competitor which will cover all of the above ** plus enough to buy some additional golfing prizes.

Morning 9-Holes Comp. will be a 3/4 Stab. 4BBB with high & how handicap pairings: - A&J, B&I, C&H, D&G and E&F. However morning tee-off groupings (two 3-balls and one 4-ball) will be selected based on your personal requests + endeavouring to mix 'n match it as much as possible. The actual better-ball scores will be calculated retrospectively, i.e. once the final group is in.

LUNCH...

Afternoon Main 18-Holes Event - teeing off in EXACT handicap order: -
1. A B C
2. D E F
3. G H I J

Hence repeat my request to keep me updated on your week-by-week handicap adjustments...?

Bobcolby - 15 May 2006 17:19 - 352 of 505

Thanks to last two medal comps my exact hcp is now 18.1

I wud like to play with MG in the morning with Choccie as caddie.

PS how can u play 4BBB with groups of 3??. The only way I know is to have "Ghost partners", partners are drawn after finish of play

Bob

EWRobson - 15 May 2006 17:45 - 353 of 505

Bob: you need to re-read the post of marcus before yours. He is saying that partners are allocated in advance, do not play together and better ball is calculated retrospectively. Fortunately, I have a Maths degree!

Bob
We'de better make her an offer she can't refuse. Horse's head in the bed comes to mind........

Don mgleone

And I think the pairings are for the afternoon - we can play with anyone - even ourselves - in the morning. Come to think of it ....... nah, better not

markusantonius - 16 May 2006 20:05 - 359 of 505

Chockie, I thought you and Martini were sharing: "ball spotting" and "tea making" duties bewtween yerselves next month?
However I MAY decide to let you caddy for The Shark if you give a decent "Cable" tip, OK? :o)

fliper - 19 May 2006 16:17 - 364 of 505

Markus , not many days left before the 5th major , have you booked the weather ! My form is still off , I need a rematch a few days before the big event .

canary9 - 19 May 2006 17:16 - 365 of 505

Just back from the Algarve...........weather and courses were cracking.....played Vilamoura Millenium, Pinhal, Palmeiros near Lagos, and Quinta de Ria, which is the Spain side of Faro. If you manage to get there, I recommend you play the last two. Form was average, but slightly up on the money!
While I'm away, the market plunges and I'm too tired/overhung to care!............................Rod

Rutherford - 19 May 2006 18:35 - 366 of 505

canary9
Been a regular in the Algarve for the last few years and my mate is a member at Palmeiros - nice if you can get it - but all he does is moan about the tourists !!

Agree about Quinta de Ria but reckon the other one is a far harder track - Quinta de Cema.

Recognise this?

Back to the nice weather I see :)

markusantonius - 24 May 2006 00:34 - 369 of 505

fliper - 25 May 2006 17:44 - 370 of 505

Markus , are we having a count down to the big day . What are those camera towers around the course for ? Is there a big comp soon ?
