What happened was that Miliband gave a promise to support his motion. The Labour party tabled their own amendment to the motion which was defeated in a vote. labour then voted down the Conservative motion withe the help of a few Lib and Conservative rebels and a handful that did not attend. It seems that Lab took umbrage to their amendment being voted down and took revenge by going back on their pledge to support the government. Miliband was a coward as he did not want to be labeled a war monger like Blair. He chickened out despite the damage it might do to the US/UK relationship.

There is a cemetery in Aberystwyth overlooking the "beach" interesting to walk around and read the the dates and the epitaphs on the stones and reason why.

There is another cemetery in Senghenydd, where there is a similarity, but the causal agents are different.

The one at Aberystwyth has better views. If you visit. do so in Spring.

David Cameron faced fresh accusations of cronyism today after it emerged his hairdresser was awarded a gong in the New Year’s Honours list.

Celebrity crimper Lino Carbosiero was handed an MBE for “services to hairdressing” - three years after taking control of Mr Cameron’s thinning barnet.

The former X Factor “style director” is thought to be responsible for switching the Prime Minister’s side parting from left to right in 2010, sparking ridicule in the Commons.

Mr Cameron allegedly started using Mr Carbosiero on the orders of his wife Samantha shortly after becoming Prime Minister.

Mr Cameron is understood to have his hair trimmed in Downing Street.

He is just one of a long line of rich and famous celebrities who use Mr Carbosiero - who charges an eye-watering £90 a cut for men and £150 for women.

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has described him as “the Godfather of hairdressing”.

He is pals with Jason Donovan, Philip Schofield and I’m A Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec and his clients include Sir Paul McCartney, Lily Allen and Zara Phillips.

His plush London salon Daniel Galvin is so popular appointments can be made one year in advance.

The decision to award Mr Carbosiero an MBE sparked anger.

It also emerged just days after the PM was attacked for honouring a host of other pals, allies and Tory donors in the New Year’s Honours list.

PR friend Alan Parker, who has holidayed with the Prime Minister and his family, was among those handed a knighthood.

Property developer Peter Emerson, who donated £41,600 to the Tories, was handed an OBE. And Apprentice star and Tory golden girl Karren Brady, who introduced George Osborne at the party conference, got a CBE.

Marion Helen and Simon Mort, both Tory activists in the PM’s patch in West Oxfordshire, also received OBEs.

Labour MP Steve Pound ridiculed the Prime Minister’s reliance on his celebrity hairdresser pal.

Mr Cameron has faced growing mockery for trying to cover up his bald patch with a “Cam-over” comb over.

Mr Pound said: “The bald truth is this - it must be a cover up. It may not be hair-raising but it certainly raises questions about cronyism.

“It’s a tight little circle gathering round the barber’s chair. We should make sure there’s no cover up - let alone a comb-over.”

these allowances were surely introduced, like free(?) tv licences, to help those who genuinely need same, not as a joke for those who patently do not
