required field - 14 Jul 2010 13:55

It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

To be honest Dil haven't seen that many matches, been playing a lot of golf and bowls. The match last night apart from the extra time resembled a Premier League match.

Fellaini wasn't very impressive. But I did like his delightful and visionary pass to set up Belgium's second goal.

To regain confidence in the England Squad, Roy Hodgson has arranged a friendly against Iceland. Should they win, he will be arranging further friendlies in the future against Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's.

The England team went to visit an orphanage in Brazil after their first match. "It's good to put a smile on the faces of people with no hope, constantly struggling and facing the impossible." said Emilio Di Costa aged 6.

Future England games will be moved to the Gay Adult TV channel as the screening of eleven ar*eholes being hammered for 90 minutes is considered too explicit for ITV.

England played like Liverpool towards the end of the season, quite good going forward but leaving gaping holes in defence, without the Suarez punch upfront...

kimoldfield - 02 Jul 2014 13:53 - 3522 of 6918

Yes indeed. I'm afraid Liverpool may well lose there bite in the new season too! :o)

The thing with losing possession in midfield if you are a player is to respond within a second or so and to harass the player that has dispossessed you even if you do not get the ball back, the opposing player will have little time to put a damaging pass in, if the England players respond quickly...too many times : England players are still pondering what to do after losing the ball...making a challenge in the middle of the park is the best place to do it....

Suarez will probably move to Barca.....Liverpool will miss him....

required field - 02 Jul 2014 22:25 - 3525 of 6918

double post, sorry.....computer locks up sometimes...

ExecLine - 03 Jul 2014 09:41 - 3526 of 6918

'Miss' is an understatement! 'Cognitive dissonance' more like.

Liverpool crowds will certainly suffer without Suarez. They will have great difficulty coming to terms with losing someone who is such a terrifically good player but, at the same time, is such an utter shit of a person.

HARRYCAT - 03 Jul 2014 09:58 - 3527 of 6918

A bit like Tevez, Balotelli, Cantona...............then? Life carries on without them.

Chris Carson - 03 Jul 2014 10:27 - 3528 of 6918

Let me see now Suarez to leave Liverpool? Gutted :O)

doodlebug4 - 03 Jul 2014 11:34 - 3529 of 6918

Suarez will soon be forgotten at Liverpool. Todays news - tomorrows fish & chip paper. Good riddance ! :-)

kimoldfield - 03 Jul 2014 12:42 - 3530 of 6918

Fish and chips! I could just sink my teeth into a bag of those now. Suarez isn't around is he?!

Great to watch when not playing your team. I believe they have a big bonus in Lalana - he will provide many opportunities for Sturridge and Sterling and get into double figures himself - I agree with doodlebug4 the multi millionaire cheating child will not be missed for long and may be Liverpool management knew he was on his way some weeks ago but now have to accept a drop in value. Perhaps we could return to normal values and indeed players salaries if all of them turned to biting - just a silly thought but no more crazy than the way it is today - restrict the amount of foreign players - how many of the players in the World Cup Quarter Final play for a league team in their own country ( possibly none). How many of the current England team play in a league abroad - answer - none - so what do we make of that - answer we have gradually shot ourselves in the foot and will continue "limping" out of championships unless we turn our back on the foreigners and give homegrown talent a chance.

doodlebug4 - 03 Jul 2014 13:51 - 3532 of 6918

A similar scenario is having a negative effect on the England cricket team now = too many foreign players in the county teams.

goldfinger - 03 Jul 2014 15:56 - 3533 of 6918

jimmy B, yep your right about this tennis, Eugine Beuchard....... what a babe.......what a pair of legs, the best since Chris Evert....... in fact better.

goldfinger - 03 Jul 2014 16:00 - 3534 of 6918

Euginie Beuchard......... top tennis bird............

Oakapples142 - 03 Jul 2014 20:30 - 3535 of 6918

Looks bandy to me - advantage for a footballer - sign her up but why oh why are we now talking tennis on this site and a foreign player to boot!

goldfinger - 03 Jul 2014 20:42 - 3536 of 6918

Jimmy and Sid said it was OK to do so.

Chris Carson - 03 Jul 2014 22:49 - 3537 of 6918

Tiptoe through the Stretford End

With your razor

And your sawn off shot gun

Tiptoe through the Stretford End with me.

The above is a little ditty sung on the terraces late 60's early 70's to the tune of 'Tiptoe through the tulips' How apt :O)
