You never know what to expect with this stock, once again oil rocketing, this stock drops sharply back.

cynic - 02 Jan 2008 18:14 - 354 of 896

50 dma has now moved sharply since my last post ..... 1400 may give support and a buying opportunity ..... with Dow crashing, it is not impossible that this number will be hit by general London fallout

HARRYCAT - 02 Jan 2008 20:12 - 355 of 896

Tricky one to call, but surely chart support is as you said at 1300/1350? Resistance for upward movement is at 1400.
Am hoping to put my toe in the water with this one but entry level is very tricky, imo.

Me too Harrycat, but where is the bottom, just can't watch it all the time, work calls, unfortunately as Cynic has previously said the Dow is down so here we go again with more crazy volatility and decision time: sit it out (with other stocks or sell and then buy back in) difficult to call, but somehow you can really see this stock soaring past the Twenty Pound mark sometime in the next 12 months, so anyway the 100 Dolllar per barrel has now been achieved and some of the oilies must be making a fortune. I just hope we don't see any more sharp spike downs in the near future as it makes investing incredibly difficult though the traders must be relishing this.

cynic - 02 Jan 2008 21:17 - 357 of 896

look at the chart ... 50 dma has now moved uopwards to near enough 1400 .... sp is already or still quite well above 1400, so it is a support not a resistance!

HARRYCAT - 09 Jan 2008 09:22 - 358 of 896

Up 8% this morning to 1694p (mid), but haven't yet seen the news as to why.

niceonecyril - 09 Jan 2008 09:22 - 359 of 896

On the verge of breaking through 17, amazing.

Someone, please somehow stop this share from rising like this !

HARRYCAT - 09 Jan 2008 20:20 - 362 of 896

Up 12% today but am none the wiser as to why. If it's purely speculation or rumour then the sp may correct itself, but frustrating not being able to find any news.

required field - 09 Jan 2008 21:43 - 363 of 896

Missed out on this, There's no position I wanted to get out of, now the price seems to be :fair value.

required field - 10 Jan 2008 08:24 - 364 of 896

Speechless.......!

cynic - 10 Jan 2008 09:54 - 365 of 896

is there even a rumour around as to why IEC has bolted as it has, and is even strong again today though of highs

niceonecyril - 10 Jan 2008 10:15 - 366 of 896

Its to do with that intend to spin of their rigs into a seperate company.

cynic - 10 Jan 2008 15:25 - 367 of 896

don't see why that should encourage sp to bolt .... actually have heard that IEC is now on Merrill's highly rated list, but am glad i top-sliced 1/3 this morning, even if not at the top

niceonecyril - 10 Jan 2008 19:14 - 368 of 896

Any one interested, IEC's site is in the lead post, click on operations and Rigs.
Wonder what the SP will goto when D&G release the latest Reserve figures,Come
end of March?

Their are several oilers operating in Russia worth taking a look at, 2 which have
simular reserves Timan and Urals the latter is producing just under 10,000bopd
and larger reserves in E/Siberia about 1/2 years behind (M/Cap100m against the 900m of IEC)and the tax system is very much in their favour. Well worth checking out as the SP is at a fund raising level, i feel a rerating is just around the corner?

cynic - 15 Jan 2008 10:21 - 369 of 896

IEC sp has been caught up in the backwash of the news about the enforced sale to Kaz government of a slice of one of the major fields ..... IEC has also rocketed in recent days for no obvious reason, so a reaction and consolidation is not unreasonable .... thus, with the markets looking rocky again, i have sold the balance of my holding, but with a view to getting back in in due course

halifax - 15 Jan 2008 10:35 - 370 of 896

Perhaps time to short Chairman Levine sells 1.5 million shares see RNS.

HARRYCAT - 15 Jan 2008 10:39 - 371 of 896

I have been watching IEC for a month or more & it is not unusual to see the sp move 6 - 7% in a day. It regularly appears on BBC2 Ceefax biggest movers page (Pg 225).

halifax - 15 Jan 2008 10:42 - 372 of 896

1.5 MILLION @17 is a lot of loot!
