Naive I know but wouldnt it be nice to hear of people working together regardless of beliefs? We send teams out to countries in times of need. We collect for those less fortunate. Our high streets are full of charity shops . Are there any charity shops in the East? Lloyds and their like are suffering from the after effects of sheer greed, most of our ills can be put down to changes in society,ie The arrival of credit cards and easy to get loans,Out of town Super markets causing high st shops to fold as uncompetitive,the associated loss of jobs, the same also contribute to the fuel and road crisis as people need cars to shop.Live now pay later, and I am afraid later has arrived.

kids are leaving school and can not even read properly that is down tomany bad teachers who went in to teaching thinking it was a easy life style .

Tanker Reason kids leave school and cannot read properly is down to government interference. I taught for 35years and have watched standards fall time and time again because the govt keep introducing new supposedly better methods. Teachers are fettered with discipline as basically they're not allowed to upset the children, reports can only be positive dare not write now that a child is lazy or disruptive or a social deviant. Lets just keep them happy doesn't matter if they learn anything. I decided to get out when I was told at a training course that I had to do a risk assessment to let children go to the toilet!!!!! Not saying there aren't any bad teachers as that happens in all jobs but teaching is far from a soft option. Rant over!
