THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

It does look like President Hollande does not want to get his Monies mixed up with his Manets .......

doodlebug4 - 15 Jan 2014 10:56 - 35412 of 81564

MaxK - post 35410 - there is surely a difference between Saville, who was a serious sexual preditor and someone like Dave Lee Travis. The Travis case sounds more like kids playing ' Doctors & nurses ' - which is what most teenagers get up to at some stage.

Haystack - 15 Jan 2014 10:59 - 35413 of 81564

It is surprising that no pop stars have been up in court for what they got up to over the years.

doodlebug4 - 15 Jan 2014 11:15 - 35414 of 81564

Don't you regard Michael Jackson as a deceased pop star Haystack ?!

Fred1new - 15 Jan 2014 11:17 - 35415 of 81564

Read back.

They have done.

-------

The difficulty is dividing the "trivial" from "molestation" and both against the "norm" of the period of the said "offences".

That is not making a judgement about said "acts".

Haystack - 15 Jan 2014 11:19 - 35416 of 81564

d4
But he got away with it?

One pop star out of so many is not much.

Haystack - 15 Jan 2014 11:21 - 35417 of 81564

Very tricky with offences going back nearly 50 years. It is difficult to know the truth of it without supporting evidence. A lot of it sounds like groping which in the 60s was probably more common.

Fred1new - 15 Jan 2014 12:13 - 35418 of 81564

Is Georgie boy's "speech" earlier to-day a declaration for his run up to his replacement of Wavey Davey?

It is reckoned David Cameron and George Osborne are spending more time negotiating with their backbenchers than negotiating with Brussels.

Haystack - 15 Jan 2014 12:24 - 35419 of 81564

Miliband was useless as usual in PMQs. He just looks like a sixth former out of his depth.

Fred1new - 15 Jan 2014 12:33 - 35420 of 81564

I thought Wavey Dave showed his true old Etonian class of weaving, ducking and diving at PMQs.

And the set up question from Wishy Washy con party backbenchers are feeble.

The present torrid party can be divided into fawners and right winged loonies.

========

cynic - 15 Jan 2014 12:45 - 35421 of 81564

weaving, ducking and diving at PMQs is exactly what skilled politicians always do .... bit like you really - i.e. never ever answer any question - except you're not really as clever as you ;like to think .... anyway, i'll modify that; questions in the House that suit are always answered regardless of the colour of the politician

goldfinger - 15 Jan 2014 13:43 - 35422 of 81564

Tories are falling apart on the quiet, then we have the Liberals slowly detaching themselves from them, then we will have the Euro elections and an all time bust up coming from the Euro sceptics.

They wont recover in time for the General Election.

Must confess cant do with this new stand from Milli and Balls with this quietly quietly manby panby approach and it isnt working...........................but its still good enough to beat this present shambles of a Tory party.

Petition – Sack Iain Duncan Smith and have him investigated for crimes against humanity

IDS-Killer2.jpg

We the undersigned demand that Iain Duncan Smith be immediately removed from the office of Minister for Works & Pensions and that an urgent criminal investigation is instigated against him regarding not only fraud, but also crimes against humanity.

The reasons we demand the above is that as Minister for Works and Pensions Iain Duncan Smith has knowingly pushed through changes via the Welfare Reform Act that have had no risk assessment carried out and that these changes have resulted in the death of at least 73 people a week, (according to figures published in April 2012, with the DWP refusing to publish current figures which are assessed to be hundreds more a week), who had had their benefits removed due to Atos, (the governments disability denial contractors), finding them fit for work. This alone, especially as it is clearly being done knowingly, is only one allegation of crimes against humanity against Iain Duncan Smith and that does not even take into account the suffering and hardship caused to hundreds of thousands of other people through loss of ESA, benefits sanctions and the Bedroom Tax that has been led by him.

The demand for a fraud investigation comes from the evidence that is in the public domain that he lied on his CV, (an offence others have received prison sentences for), when he put himself forward to be an MP and that he paid his wife an income for a job out of government funds when she did no work for this pay making this fraud.

We ask the government, dismiss this stain on humanity from his position and have him investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent for the crimes it is clear that he has committed.

Please click on the above link and sign the petition. REMEMBER one day it could be you, your family, your relations, your freinds.

cynic - 15 Jan 2014 14:18 - 35425 of 81564

for goodness sake sticky .... what is it with you and these stupid and random petitions? .... is someone paying you to take up space on assorted boards?

Fred1new - 15 Jan 2014 14:24 - 35426 of 81564

GF.

"the namby pamby approach".

I guess he is happy to have Cameron blustering away, looking for his next U-Turn.

The torrids are in self destruct mode and making a good job of it.

With the Libs splitting off early from the Cons and disowning many of the putrid self serving policies the differences will become more apparent.

I got a feeling there will be a fair amount of flirting between between Lib/Dems and labour before the next elections.

This may lead to a more natural coalition and acceptable government than the present one.

The torrid party in attempts to placate their loony right of the hazy type are loosing the more moderate centre voters.

What are the odds on a Lab/lib/dem coalition?

cynic - 15 Jan 2014 14:41 - 35427 of 81564

probably not as good as you might hope, and it also presupposes lib/dems hold enough seats to enable them to be king makers

goldfinger - 15 Jan 2014 14:49 - 35428 of 81564

Cyners you forget I work voluntary each weekend on the pit face and know of plenty decent people who are disabled or sick who have JUST GIVEN UP THE FIGHT and committed suicide because of the unnecessary pressure put upon them by ATOS and the DSS.

Please remember one day it could be you it could be your son it could be anyone you know.

This situation is not over exaggerated its the truth its whats going on in what is supposed to be a decent country with human rights.

i don't dispute the basis from where you come, but these so-called petitions that you keep throwing about, really are pretty silly and meaningless .... more to the point, that is exactly the way they come across

i won't get into any political discussion with you here - too many zealots (prejudiced loonies!) from either side - though i would happily do so over a pint, or better still, a decent bottle of wine
