How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Afternoon all
Is anyone else having problems with the betfair page reloading itself every minute or two or is it just me - it makes trading impossible and is doing my head in?

Not on Fed as no value at all but just picked up small win on Myskina. Backed her when she was 1 set down. Won't be on her again as she nearly lost it.
She went out in the 1st round in Paris cos her mother was very poorly.
For a high seed she should have won in 2 sets

With Wimbledon in full swing and with Nadal beginning his campaign today I thought I'd post this interesting article from this weekend's Sunday Times outlining the failure of French Open champions to transfer their same successes onto a grass court.
See link for full article.

So based on this article I'll be laying off Nadal today. He's currently available at 1.26/1.27, not as short as a 4th seed ought to be but reflects his vulnerability and poor standing on grass.
We mustn't forget Henman who also starts today. He's on 1.12/1.13 and an even better lay opportunity.
My stratagies for both these players is to lay at the outset or at a better price when the games commence hoping to green up on later or trade out of if going against me.

I know little of tennis but I just can't see a talent such as Nadal flopping. He may not win but he has a never say die attitude.
Hope you are able to make a few quid on him today Bak but I hope he goes on to win.

John,
I totally agree with you on his talent and his attitude having made a decent amount on him prior to Wimbledon. I hope he goes on to win today too but I'm hoping he has a wobble before he does and before I start to trade on him.
Even though I've layed him off it's only a very small amount which I'm hoping to reverse for a profit as soon as he starts to dominate

Guys
cant see nadal losing today but do think he will struggle in the tournament to get to the quarters or further
Dil - he had a bye on day 1 :-)

His first round exit in the Gerry Weber tournament (grass) didn't help his preparation for wimbledon, or his odds for that matter.

I see that Henman's odds have already drifted out to 1.25+ having been as low as 1.11/1.12 at the outset. Wished I'd layed more on it for an easy green up!

Green for me too.
I'm all for him to win this match after a rigourous 5 set workout so he can get wasted next round after I've layed him off big time for the tournament.
