Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Junky's days are numbered.
He and his attitude is why vote leave won and half of EU founders are thinking of joining us.
Merkel is more switched on and in touch with reality than I have ever given her credit for. She is genuinely gutted imo.

... unlike Fred !
Fred serious ... Carwyn said he was going to ring Brussels and do a deal for Wales Friday morning if there was a vote out.
Did he ring them ?
No he didn't because the Welsh voted with their hearts and he had no mandate because we voted out.
Get over it , move on , it's called democracy.
And as long as I've got a hole in my ar%e Labour will never win another General Election with Corbyn or any of his ilk in charge.
Study the Blaenau Gwent Gwent or Torfaen vote if you don't believe me.

I wouldn't trust Merkel an inch all she's thinking about are BMW Audi VW and Porsche car sales over here , and the longer the leaving takes the more opportunity she has for maneuver , that's if she's still around .

Dil.
The "Welsh" voted against something, that was "Cameron and cohorts" and also the lousy economy and rising unemployment they are facing.
Leaving the EU will not change that problem.
As far a getting over it, I recall listening to Cash and Carry bleating away for the last 20 or 30 years.
-=-===
Interesting to see the negotiations in the EU, also interesting to see a con party reelected and face up to the problems they have created.
(Poison chalice comes to mind.)

This is pathetic you can't have another referendum just because you didn't win the last one , how can you ever get things done .

Reports that half the Labour Shadow Cabinet could resign this morning over the sacking of Hilary Benn. Labour are Donald Ducked Freda! Rumour or fact German Finance Ministry Strategy Paper has recommended making the UK an "Associated Partner Country" of the EU following Leave Vote?

Very good Max. Corbyn didn't seem very upset with the Brexit vote.
Is there really any doubt about who should be the new Tory leader? The parliamentary party misread the mood of the people when supporting Cameron but it better not get it wrong now. Boris may not be the favourite of the majority of Tory party members but he is the peoples choice, including many potential Labour and UKIP voters. Choose the wrong leader and we could end up with a coalition again.

Am I correct in that vat will be abolished ?.....perhaps not with just a name change...(might call it tat..)(something else goes with that).....it is now up to the will of the British people to work hard and improve our living standards.....our borders must be kept tight with perhaps extra customs put in place because now is the time to keep an eye on people smugglers, drug dealers and all sorts of dodgy things going on.......BOY !...what a great result that vote is....fantastic !...

good morning chaps from a sunny and relatively windless cascais (near lisbon)
fwiw, sunday ftse is now showing at 5945 but of course that is arguably just a defensive position
fred - your man corbyn did fuck all to promote the cause of remain ...... and of course you didn't even get off your arse to vote ...... some things never change
it's also a shame that half the shadow cabinet will now be campaigning to get rid of the tories best friend

much more relevant (than fred who isn't) ......
george soros
for once in his life i thought said something sensible rather than self-serving, which of course i cannot now find
anyway and to summarise he said ....
eu in its present format is almost inevitably into terminal decline, so what was now needed was for all to pull together to restructure it to its original concept
i think and hope i have got that right

Post 3587,
Yes. We will need arms guards at the borders to stop the exodus of people and "wealth" leaving the country.
(Brings back memories of crossing borders in the 50s with armed guards patrolling trains and stations. Stalin must have been right and we need to spend money on a form of KGB.)
How many houses in London will be up for sale on Monday?
Should help the shortage of housing. Good old fashion tory policy.

Manuel,
Get back to you proper place at the sink.
I am glad you know who my "man" is.
I think that Corbyn didn't want to join Cameron on his pedestal, as he didn't want to dirty his hands by being seen to shake hands with Cameron.
I don't know enough about Corbyn, or what he thinking or preparing.
I may be wrong, but I him as an honest thinking principled man. Something which is missing in the present leadership of the Con party at the moment who are practising out of self-interest and for their place in political history.
But, many of the tory party voters or sycophants like you seem to be, admire the self-serving qualities of the latter.
How able is Corbyn? I don't know and find him difficult to judge. But, with a hostile bought right winged media and newspaper propaganda machine working overtime I think he is doing remarkably well.
I wonder what they are frightened of.
Time will tell, but certainly, at the moment he seems to have ideologies, policies and values which appeal to many younger voters.
Also, if we go into a further period of harsher austerity under another corrupt leadership, his views may be seen as suitable alternatives.
