Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

CEL is a 5 to 1 consolidation see AGM statement

Is it possible for the "N" signifying news to be a different colour on a second RNS in one day, for example, today SEO have issued two RNS's but if you have already read the first one you would potentially be unaware of a second. thanks

Nick

qwento,

Thanks,

nickrichards,

This is actually something we looked into and it is possible - I will pass it onto the tech guys to add to the list again.

qwento,

ELR, CEL and WKS updated.

Cheers, James.

James(MoneyAM) - 01 Sep 2005 16:36 - 3582 of 7315

bosley and NielsJensen,

As Ian pointed out, the news flag issue stems from our supplier's handling of RNS news.

Sorry I can't help further.

Cheers, James.

Change of epic :

ANV All New Video (was GOR Gordian Investments).

JRVS 19-1 stock consolidation (or thereabouts, if you can work it out you are doing better than me)

HLCL 5-1 stock split

You might like to take a look at the quote page for ADNN (a new admission). I somehow think the name might be wrong !

James(MoneyAM) - 02 Sep 2005 13:43 - 3584 of 7315

qwento,

ANV and ADNN updated. Waiting for JRVS and HLCL.

Cheers, James.

Can we have an update on when the search facility is going to be sorted out please. By sorted out I mean back to the fairly poor search that we had before the board upgrade, rather than the completely useless search we have now.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 04 Sep 2005 10:58 - 3586 of 7315

Spaceman,

At the moment there are no plans to add back in the ability to search for individual posts (which only ever returned the thread they appeared on anyway!), this is due to potential load issues.

Other than that, the current search is an improvement over the old one; it's able to search both boards, and all the search parameters can be searched at the same time (ie, threads with 'wibble' in the title, with 'VOD' as the epic that have been posted to by 'Spaceman' - something that wasn't possible before)

J.

Spaceman - 04 Sep 2005 12:19 - 3587 of 7315

J. Thats a real shame, and I do not agree that the new search is an improvement in any way, in fact its almost completely useless. If I want to search for anything IN a thread it cannot help at all, the examples you give are not the sort of thing I ever do and I doubt if they are very useful to others either.

I have almost stopped assisting in the PC help thread because of this lack of search. I might be being selfish but I am not going to repeadedly retype information that I know is in that thread and which can no longer be found because of the lack of a proper search.

I suggest you need to look at this situation again, the original search was very poor this one is useless. I am not the only one that has complained about this, its a shame that we are being ignored.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 04 Sep 2005 13:35 - 3588 of 7315

Spaceman,

The old search wasn't able to pinpoint individual posts within a thread either, so using it find the posts that had information in was impossible, all the search would retrieve is the thread title. So how did that help?

You are not being ignored, it's not possible to search for individual posts at this stage due to potential system load; if that situation changes, then searching for individual posts will be recoded.

Meanwhile we're working on other areas of the site and the systems behind them.

J.

Spaceman - 04 Sep 2005 13:56 - 3589 of 7315

J, my bad wording, what I meant was that the old search could find a thread with a search phrase in it, I agree it did not find the actual post, thats why I said the old search was fairly poor. However that was a vast improvement on the hopeless search we now have.

The system load argument is valid but it says to me that you dont want to resolve this problem, I know searchs use a lot of resource but we used to have this facility and you have removed it. In my view this is a critical mistake and reduces the value of this site to its users. In addition it makes some posters (at least one, me!) unwilling to post the same information again and again.

skg83239 - 04 Sep 2005 13:58 - 3590 of 7315

With the old search at least you could find out whether a word or phrase was in a thread, you could then use "Find on Page" in 500 post chunks.
