You can use this tool to check exchanges:

Yes Priscilla, it's just a question of speed of transfer of the data between the computer and the printer.

Is there a problem with stockwatch? I can get in there but stockwatch keeps asking for my username and password over and over

Edit : fixed now

SEADOG - 23 Aug 2005 07:57 - 3578 of 11003

Captain Scarlet - 23 Aug 2005 14:28 - 3579 of 11003

I had this too a few weeks ago - I thought I'd been banned!
A new PC cured the problem!

Bought a Medion Desktop from Aldi for 499, which is excellent and amazingly quiet. I also have a Time Platina which functions well but is extremely noisy by comparison.
Anyone any suggestions for quieting the Time machine??

I think you'll need to change the power supply unit - which includes the cooling fan.

Thanks SC. It looks an interesting site

Seymour Clearly - 24 Aug 2005 13:58 - 3584 of 11003

I also have an Aldi Medion PC and find it noticeably quieter than my other machines have been. Have also got lots of new Evesham machines for work and they are very quiet.

ADAM - 24 Aug 2005 16:19 - 3585 of 11003

AMD's are generally noisier than INTEL as they require a lot more cooling. I have three fans, hard drive coolers, a three fan power supplier and a tidy away IDE setup. Noisey as hell!

How fast does it fly Adam?

Richgit69 - 24 Aug 2005 18:47 - 3587 of 11003

I can't find any software to fix my harddisk, so thinking of buying a new pc any good deals around at the moment?

Seymour Clearly - 24 Aug 2005 19:19 - 3588 of 11003

RG69 - you have mail.

Seymour Clearly - 24 Aug 2005 21:08 - 3589 of 11003

I have 6 new PCs at work, networked together using one of the desktops as a "server" although it will still be used as a main PC as well. This machine has MS Office on it and the others all have MS Works on. Can the Office programs be run on the other machines as well?

Richgit69 - 24 Aug 2005 22:10 - 3590 of 11003

Seymour, thanks for the email ;-)

SEADOG - 25 Aug 2005 07:53 - 3591 of 11003

Richgit69,
Why not just put a new hard drive in ???????

Richgit69 - 25 Aug 2005 08:49 - 3592 of 11003

Seadog, its a lot easier for me to buy a new base unit than installing a harddrive ;-)

SEADOG - 25 Aug 2005 09:35 - 3593 of 11003

Understand the logic but not the economics !!!! SD

ADAM - 25 Aug 2005 10:19 - 3594 of 11003

Seymour,

Very fast! Just have to sit here with my earplugs in.

In asnwer to your question about running office from one machine across a network, no. You need to install a 'fresh' copy on each one.
