Easynet (ESY)

proptrade - 22 Jan 2004 11:27

i was wondering if anyone out there had any strong views? this company appears to be delivering and has just turned EBITA positive after a great trading statement last week. seems like upside to +200p once results are out.

any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.

yes thx, sent one back...

gavdfc - 15 Feb 2005 13:28 - 359 of 602

Quiet day so far, a fall from the open and now back up. Roll on the 24th!

proptrade - 15 Feb 2005 13:31 - 360 of 602

i know. great price move today. down 2.5 and a decent rally to here. wouldn't be surprised to see a positive close. MM moving up i am sure when being quoted. buyers still around...125p soon!

gavdfc - 15 Feb 2005 13:49 - 361 of 602

Bid jumped 3p on just a few trades so perhaps some delayed trades will show up later. At times like this I miss L2! The free trial was excellent.

proptrade - 15 Feb 2005 13:56 - 362 of 602

i know what you mean. i am setting up a GNI account with L2 so i am closer to the action

gavdfc - 15 Feb 2005 13:59 - 363 of 602

I believe Etrade do a similar deal but not sure what the minimum is to open. I use s/bets instead of CFD's but no free L2 with them. I think IG markets do that as well with DMA access on CFD's.

proptrade - 15 Feb 2005 14:01 - 364 of 602

i also use the spread guys but when actively trading i need to slice those spreads...

gavdfc - 15 Feb 2005 14:04 - 365 of 602

Agree re the spreads are somtimes garbage at Fins and IG on certain prices. But IG cover a lot of the smaller comps which I like, hardly use Fins these days. Looking at opening a D4F acc for trading the large comps.

proptrade - 15 Feb 2005 14:09 - 366 of 602

great idea...i may do same and compare to GNI

gavdfc - 15 Feb 2005 14:59 - 367 of 602

Just had a quick look at GNI, seems you still have to pay 50 for the L2 access. From what I've read on D4F, they seem to offer the best spreads on FTSE shares and indices with a margin of 5% on bets.

proptrade - 15 Feb 2005 15:15 - 368 of 602

the think is that i have negotiated a great dealing rate with GNI and they have waived the 50. it is really for the active trading and not for the likes of ESY. ie banks and ftse stuff. D4F is great, i just had a peek as well.

gavdfc - 15 Feb 2005 15:32 - 369 of 602

RNS out, a bit of shuffling of holdings I think. Seems like you got a good deal with GNI, forgot that costs can be negoitiated with CFD's.

So quiet today all round, light volume here.

proptrade - 16 Feb 2005 16:02 - 371 of 602

yup, nothing to worry about...come on contracts/results!

gavdfc - 16 Feb 2005 17:48 - 372 of 602

So quiet that I had to take a nap earlier!

proptrade - 17 Feb 2005 12:05 - 373 of 602

no trade....zzzzz

gavdfc - 18 Feb 2005 11:00 - 374 of 602

Found this elsewhere, seems to be a new buy note out this morning.

Easynet Group* (ESY.L, 111p, MC 135m, Buy) Due: 24th February

■ We expect Easynet to deliver in line with our expectations and provide supportive comments on our expectations for 2005 performance, which is likely to include confirmation that Easynet is set to go cash flow neutral during the year.
■ Given the newsflow in the sector is likely to be focussed on the Ofcom regulatory review on LLU we expect Easynet to be in the sweetspot and that this is likely to provide sentiment support as well as the ongoing solid
fundamentals.
■ We are still of the view that Easynet offers one of the most attractive acquisition targets given that it has low legacy revenues. We suspect that M&A activity will intensify in 2005 and that consolidation is looking more
likely.
