The Government and Network Rail have announced big increases in rail spending over the next few years, which can only bode well for Jarvis (LSE: JRVS.L - news) . Chief executive, Richard Entwistle, refuses to discuss talk of a takeover but the fact that others are now interested should encourage buyers. .....

ahoj - 03 Jun 2008 16:19 - 38 of 142

Why the crash then?

Toya - 03 Jun 2008 18:33 - 39 of 142

Could just be a bit of a pull-back after the recent sharp rise.

Dil - 03 Jun 2008 23:24 - 40 of 142

ahoj ... watch and learn

banjomick - 03 Jun 2008 23:47 - 41 of 142

Evening all,
Would it be a daft suggestion that there could be a rumour of an offer at this current range in SP for the business?

Edit-testing the water so to speak?

Not a holder but just interested and the little dip today means nothing at all.Hope JRVS do well.

Dil - 04 Jun 2008 00:08 - 42 of 142

There are always rumours banjo .... didn't do MDX any good though.

Prefer charts backed up by fundamentals myself.

banjomick - 04 Jun 2008 00:11 - 43 of 142

Quite agree,Dil re charts backed up by fundamentals myself.

good luck anyway, should be a win win situation but too hectic for me.

ahoj - 04 Jun 2008 08:21 - 44 of 142

Why did it fall in the first place. It should worth well over 100p IMO

Dil - 04 Jun 2008 09:24 - 45 of 142

Cos it wasn't worth a quid at the time ... suggest you read back through RNS announcements.

Dil - 04 Jun 2008 13:22 - 46 of 142

Bought a few more today COUNT , thats my lot now.

ahoj - 19 Jun 2008 08:31 - 47 of 142

Train is the cheapest means of transport... Eurotunnel, BGY, Jrvs should see a big rise in demand.

re - Its the start of something big Master RSI , fill yer boots. - 03 Jun 2008

Well I was right and you .....

Now is the time to fill your boots again, yesterday and today has been plenty of chances at 28p.
We are now at the start of another cycle were Indicators and support is positive, naturally I am taking short term

My chart yesterday, point to an upsiade of 19p

Symmetrical trangle

HARRYCAT - 19 Jun 2008 19:14 - 49 of 142

Have been watching these for a while now & am tempted by the gently rising sp, but just as a matter of interest, MRSI, what do you mean by 'short term'?

Dil - 19 Jun 2008 19:59 - 50 of 142

Master RSI - 01 Apr 2008 17:07 - 57 of 92
Photo-Me (PHTM)

Dil - 19 Jun 2008 20:08 - 52 of 142

HARRYCAT ... make your own mind up , this self proclaimed "Master" has a less than perfect record on the threads I post on (see above) but has made some good calls on others apparently (he told me I think).

Dil - 19 Jun 2008 20:12 - 53 of 142

Hope he gets this one right for a change but I'm looking for more than 19p over the next 6 months.

HARRYCAT - 19 Jun 2008 23:29 - 54 of 142

Don't worry Dil. I usually research well before buying.
The only broker forecast that I can find is a 'Hold' with a target price of 36p.
Also:
Earnings per share (GBP) 3.40 2007 (Act) 3.70 2008 (Est) 4.10 2009 (Est)
Public transport sector seems to be attracting more interest, though I would have called it a medium to long term investment, unless there is any kind of M & A activity.

Master RSI - 20 Jun 2008 10:07 - 55 of 142

DIl

I've put you on the "SHEEP SHAGGER" list, but being from Wales is nothing new to you.

1 - We are talking about JRVS in this thread.

2- My selections are short term, for a long time now I do not put any longer share certificates under the mattress like you, the climate of the economy is not for doing so.

3- Noticed you have put down 2 share charts for long term that are around the same price or down, what about the one's that are well UP looser.

4 - Accept your mistakes, Learn and then take it like a MAN

5- I have look at the records and have PHTM as buying at 15p and selling at 16.50p small profit, but last February 7th bought it a 23.723p and sold them one week later @33.50p on the 15th for 1.495 profit.
MDX bought at 47.50p and sold 48.50, it went as high as 54p next day, just cover cost.

HARRYCAT
re - MRSI, what do you mean by 'short term'?

It has been explain above, looking at charts they go in clycles, very much influenced by Indicators, like MACD, RSI and Stochastich, one can make money during this periods, like "cat bounce" in BDEV, from last week 52.50p to Monday 103p, I did good money, and never bought at bottom or sold at top.
