I am glad that summary justice is being applauded in the USA, Britain and Syria.
Perhaps we need another referendum to legalise it in this country.

Its not being applauded Fred its being cheered from the rooftops all over the western world and that fact that he was unarmed doesn't worry me one iota.
Good riddance to him.

Dil,
I think it is a good example for others.
However, I would watch that neighbour of yours, he has just bought a new twelve bore.
Also, the Syrians only arrested and torture "terrorists" who disagree with them.
(I need some of their power.)

They should have flown Bin Laden to the uk and torture him by forcing him to read all of Fred's post's .

"forcing him to read all of Fred's post's "
"Cruel and unusual punishment" is against the US constitution.
They don't have eight bedroom houses in Peckham for all his wives and kids so they'd have given him a pad in Kensington and Chelsea plus all the benefits/

Dil,
In that Bush and Blair are responsible for the deaths of over 100,000
Iraqis by "collateral" damage, and many think they are responsible for war crimes you would not be offended by the injudicial "killing" or "murder" of them even?
Even if they were unarmed?
I am not sad that he is dead, but I think after all the crowing is over, that, probably, more harm has been done by the way in which it has be achieved.

reality check needed here
fred - on the very reasonably assumption that BL is dead, do you think that his bodyguards would have allowed him to be taken alive? ...... do you think BL would have meekly held up his hands in surrender when politely requested to do so? ..... do you think that even in a drugged state (say) that BL could have been whisked away? ..... do you think that that would actually have been a "better" solution and that his follwers would merely have muttered, "oh dear! guess the game's up now"?
of course the removal of BL will not destroy al qaeda, and indeed for a while, the world may be a somewhat more dangerous place for obvious reasons ..... however, there can be no denying (except perhaps by fred) that the removal of BM and especially the capture of huge amounts of information of all kinds will weaken al qaeda substantially
what "we" do about that vipers-nest of pakistan is another matter - not play them cricket would be a good start!
