Superscape was founded nearly twenty years ago, and has been dedicated throughout its history to the development of ground-breaking software technology for the creation and delivery of innovative, high quality interactive 3D applications.
Over the years, Superscape has amassed unparalleled expertise and experience in the development of 3D software capable of working within the constraints of limited memory devices, slow processor speeds and strictly controlled file sizes.
Drawing on this knowledge, Superscape has established a world-leading position in the development of industry-standard 3D technology and applications for mobile devices. The company's Swerve technology has been developed specifically for wireless environments in close collaboration with ARM, and comprises a 3D engine (Swerve Client), authoring tools (Swerve Studio) and a broad portfolio of 3D content, with particular emphasis on 3D games. Swerve is being adopted on a global basis by many of the mobile industry's leading players, together with world-renowned content and brand organisations.
Superscape has corporate headquarters in Hook, Hampshire (UK) and San Clemente, California (USA) with regional offices in Tokyo and Sydney. The company is quoted on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: SPS).
Superscape (SPS) has received various tips in the press and by Analysts recently which will certainly give impetous to the share price. Indicators are looking good with the RSI rising off an oversold position and the MACD crossing showing BULLISH signs for the stock.
The mobile gaming market is still in it's infancy but the projected revenue is enormous. Mobile operators are looking at tapping the Gameboy market as they feel that users will not want to carry around a multitude of technology and if they have a mobile phone which can double as a gaming station than people will prefer this option.
People should also look at the recent contracts which SPS have signed for their technology. This is a technology company which could well be a great success in 2004.

Interesting company with potential?
I first came across these in 1999, but they have consistently failed to get off the ground. If they ever do, they may fly, but I'll watch and wait until we see some consistent progress. I've been disappointed before.
Best of luck though.

strange trades today, far more sells than buys and the MM's are moving it higher to get stock on their books. strange because there has been way more sells than buys over the last month so they must already be holding stock, someone must want it!

Worth reflecting where we were twelve months ago compared with now. Then we had just a single licence deal with HP Ipaq plus a contract to do some vague branding work for France Telecom. Now we have license agreements with all the main four manufacturers (though we are still in the dark about the mystery Nokia one) plus Savaje, which promises to become a significant player in the market. We also have content agreements the likes of Sony and Disney that we were only dreaming of a year ago. Our close technology development ties with the likes of Intel, TI, Microsoft and Qualcomm are also something that has been developed in the last year.
Interestingly, most of the real action last year took place in the five months between May and August. Thereafter, the 'new' deals tended to be embellishments or add-ons to earlier contracts. Not surprisingly, that is also when the main share price action took place. From the lows of 6p or 7p just following the results, there was some huge volume buying in May and June long before the rest of the market woke up to the fact that big license deals were just around the corner. It looked to me suspiciously like 'insiders' making hay. I also got the impression that the same big investors were the ones bailing out just before the rights issue in November. Apart from the blip from January's New Year tips, the share price has not yet recovered from the rights issue!
My point is that SPS seems to be one of those shares where big traders seem to lead the way and signal what's to come and having seen some huge trades go through in the last couple of days, I wonder if we are about to see a change in direction bought about by 'knowledgeable' traders. Last year the catalyst was the manufacturer contracts. Could we see a similar effect this year as the network operator contracts start to emerge? Certainly there is going to be a lot of news flow over the next few months. The first operator deal is imminent and others may not be many months behind if the operators are to have their 3G offerings available for the Xmas market. Also, by mid year (July/August?) we are going to have a library of 24 games hitting the streets. I also anticipate other manufacturer agreements arising from, not least, the OEM's licensing MBX packages from the likes of Intel and TI. and looking for a compatible software solution.
So the next six months could be very interesting and may also be key to whether the 'break-even' is achieved early or later in 2005. The current estimates for 2004 probably take into account only the known deals to date. New contracts could change the picture and will be key to determining how rapidly revenues grow into 2005. This is a very dynamic market and the picture will change very quickly. If we can achieve this year on the scale of last, think where we will be in April 2005.

SUPERSCAPE TO DELIVER UNIVERSAL PICTURES' ACTION-ADVENTURE VAN HELSING TO MOBILE
PHONE USERS
Monday 26 April 2004, Hook, Hampshire, UK: Superscape Group plc, leaders in
revolutionary entertainment for mobile phones, announces that it has signed a
worldwide licensing agreement with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group to
develop a new 3D game based on Van Helsing. Van Helsing, the new epic
action-adventure film from writer-director Stephen Sommers (The Mummy, The Mummy
Returns), draws inspiration from the studio's classic horror properties and
introduces Van Helsing, Bram Stoker's fabled monster hunter, who is summoned to
a distant Eastern European land on a quest to vanquish evil. The film stars
Hugh Jackman (X-Men, Swordfish) and Kate Beckinsale (Pearl Harbor) and opens
nationwide May 7, 2004.
Commenting, Kevin Roberts, CEO Superscape Group plc said: 'I am delighted that
Superscape has been awarded the rights to develop a new 3D game based on Van
Helsing. This is further endorsement that Superscape's Swerve is being regarded
as the technology of choice to bring high profile, branded entertainment to the
small screen of the mobile phone.'
'We believe that Superscape is the best partner to translate the fun, adventure
and rich visual universe of Van Helsing from the big screen to the handset,'
said Jeremy Laws, vice president of Media Licensing and Strategy for Universal
Studios Consumer Products Group.
The new mobile game, developed by Superscape using the company's
industry-standard JSR 184 compliant authoring tool Swerve Studio, will be
available for over the air download on mass-market BREW and Java handsets. New
missions and levels will also be downloadable.
In the game, Van Helsing's mission is to defeat the infamous Count Dracula
before he is able to bestow the power of everlasting life on his evil offspring,
of which there are thousands. The game comprises a series of missions for Van
Helsing in which he must battle with wraiths who shoot lightening bolts,
exploding pygmy bats, vampires, Dracula's brides, werewolves, dwarf-like '
dwergers', Frankenstein's Monster, and ultimately Dracula himself. Players will
experience the game through the eyes of Van Helsing, and will need to explore,
puzzle solve and enter into many combats armed with an impressive array of
weaponry including wooden stakes, blades, shotguns, and crossbows. At the end
of each mission, the players will receive a summary of the time taken to
complete it, the number of opponents killed, and the level of accuracy achieved.
Missions are set in the castles of Frankenstein and Dracula and are
accompanied by realistic sound effects (to complement the console-quality 3D
graphics) including a wolf growl, pistol shots, explosions, and thunderclaps.
About the Film
Deep in the mountains of Carpathia lies the mysterious and mythic land of
Transylvania-a world where evil is ever-present, where danger rises as the sun
sets, and where the monsters that inhabit man's deepest nightmares take form.
Innovative filmmaker Stephen Sommers-who so imaginatively re-envisioned
Universal's classic Mummy character in the worldwide blockbusters The Mummy and
The Mummy Returns-now widens his cinematic scope and multiplies his creative
inspiration by breathing new life into the most time-honored pantheon of classic
Universal monsters and setting them in a stunning new world of fantastical
reality. Sommers' all-encompassing vision for a world as tangible, real and
visceral as any caught in the stranglehold of inescapable evil blends the
recognizable and the unimaginable into a vivid, epic backdrop for his tale of
ultimate evil against a lone force of good: Van Helsing.
Van Helsing is rated PG-13 (Parents Strongly Cautioned - Some Material May Be
Inappropriate For Children Under 13) for non-stop creature action violence and
frightening images, and for sensuality. Please consult

News flow appears to be supporting the price at present. However the quality is not good enough for the market at present. Expect the downtrend to continue very shortly .SPS still massively overpriced. SP was ramped up big time last summer for the right issue. SP is still working this excess out.

Disagree momentum, 10 million swerved up phones out by the end of the year, count the royalties (not massive admitedly) but each phone will have at least one game on it and you get the significant revenue increases KR was talking about. I think it is reality, sometimes the best time to buy a stock is when the market has the opposite view now. would you go and buy a new house now, ask an estate agent, they will till you to but I wouldn't go near the housing market, same analogy!

Siemens gets Chinese WAP
More in your face than 3G
By Tony Dennis: Monday 26 April 2004, 10:17
DISPLAYING ITS preference for proven technology rather than bleeding edge stuff, China Mobile has awarded Siemens a contract to set up what it claims will be 'the world's second-largest WAP installation' in the South Eastern part of China.
The pair claim that more than 100 million mobile phone users will be able to use mobile internet applications via Siemens 'Mobile Smart Proxy' product.
More to the point this WAP gateway can support more than 2,400 transactions per second whereas by comparison the worldwide average is less than 100 transactions per second. Users will gain access to the usual stuff downloadable images, ring tones, and Java applications.
Plus they'll be able to use online games via their mobile phones and enjoy secure access to Internet sites. China, of course, had some 269 million mobile subscribers by Q1 2004 compared to some 293 million land lines, so mobile is more now important than the fixed Internet.
Siemens was the biggest loser from China's recent decision to delay 3G licences until 2006 as we reported here. Siemens doesn't say where the world's biggest WAP gateway is located, though.
Drivel momentum ! Try and understand the potential of the market which SPS are addressing and gaining major deals in !

Moving up nicely today with some strong buying.
I liked the 800K and 1.5M trades we have seen over the last few weeks.Seems as though someone wants a stake and if this continues then expect the price to be alot stronger from here.

Answer me this then Mr Happy explain SP performance the past 9 months. And if you like 3 months prior to this. However once a big seller is remove from the market the technical picture can change quite dramatically. Once 30p-35p is overcome rise could be substantial. Also 30p could prove a barrier to great and the downtrend continue.

Do you not think the Mms played a blinder today ? The 200K was a delayed sell from earlier and then on two small sells they marke the price down a penny on the bid !! Some other large buys and ratio was in favour of buyers.
Seems like they have a big order to fill at a pre arranged price !

SUPERSCAPE meeting with management
Following the results last week, we met with management of Superscape, the mobile gaming technology and content business, to discuss prospects for the coming year. Key highlights below:-
The business model has evolved from technology company to technology-led entertainment company. What does this mean? By securing relationships with the major mobile handset manufacturers last year, the company is now pushing hard to secure high quality branded content from the major film, entertainment and sports organizations and will earn the bulk of its revenue from downloads of content.
Handsets, complete with Swerve 3D engine installed, are ready to be rolled out into the market place from late May with European launches in the late summer.
The group has indicated in its press release that they expect 10 million such Swerve enabled handsets to be in the market by January 2005 (this appears conservative based upon production schedules) but the key will be whether that number is mass market within a further a twelve months i.e. nearer 100 million by that time.
First handsets are now on demonstration including the E680 from Motorola which, with 3D games running, look stunning. We understand demand is encouraging from the networks to have these phones running. Importantly, there does appear to be a desire to see these phones down at an attractive pricing point for the consumer.
The company has secured some attractive titles for launch within its library of 3D games. These games will be distributed either by embedding directly on the phone or being made available by Over the Air download. Swerve tools and the 3D engine allow for a game file size to be compressed to ensure a swift download onto the phone.
This week, the group announced that it has secured the rights for the Van Helsing film which is due for launch in the US in a week or twos time. A 3D game will be available and significant marketing budgets are being provided to launch the mobile gaming version. We would expect Superscape to derive revenues from this title in a number of ways including Over the Air downloads and embedding on selective handsets.
They would expect to be able to announce a significant number of new deals in the content area in the next six months which will cement its market leading position with library content.
They also expect to be announcing numerous deals with the network operators such as Vodafone in the coming weeks as they seek to drive the content component of the revenue stream. Gaming is expected to be a key driver.
The market has had difficulty in providing a valuation for Superscape as the business is still at the pre-revenue stage. Forecasts are naturally being kept conservative and this includes the timing of revenue lift-off and what impact this has on cash burn and cash resources. The company believes it is fully funded and that the move to cash flow positive will be during the second half of 2005.
Overheads of the business are around 8 million of which the only rising component is Research and Development of around 3 million. We expect tight control on these costs. The forecast for the current year is for revenue of 4.5 million of which 800,000 is already secured due to deferred revenue carried forward from the previous year.
The model is still high-risk, of course, but no one can dispute that the management has positioned this company well to benefit from the interest in mobile gaming. The agreements in place provide the endorsement for the technology. The shares are beginning to rise as the company moves towards revenue growth and one can begin to ascertain how successful the model will be. We remain buyers for high risk investors.

AGREEMENT FOR SWERVE-POWERED 3D MOBILE GAMES
Superscape Group plc, (LSE:SPS), leaders in revolutionary entertainment for
mobile phones, announces today that it has a signed a revenue sharing royalty
distribution agreement for the company's 3D mobile games titles with a leading
US network operator. This is the first distribution contract for Superscape
with a network operator and a key element in the process of bringing the
company's Swerve-based games to the mass consumer market.
The games will become available during the next three months and will run on
mass market handsets from leading manufacturers. Details of the titles will
be announced as the games are released but will include many of the high profile
games already announced in the Superscape Swerve Library of Games and made
available through the company's partnerships with leading global entertainments
organisations.
Kevin Roberts, CEO, Superscape Group plc said: "I am very pleased to announce
this important contract win which will, for the first time, open up mass market
revenue streams for Superscape. We are in advanced negotiations with other
leading global network operators and I am confident we will be making further
announcements of this nature over the course of the next few months."
Under the terms of the contract with this network operator, Superscape will
enjoy the majority of the revenue-sharing royalties based on consumer demand for
the titles.
Roberts commented: "Reaction to our Swerve-developed portfolio of games has
been very encouraging from leading global operators and major handset
manufacturers, including Siemens, Motorola and Samsung all of whom are embedding
Swerve games on their handsets.
"Superscape's 'four corners strategy' is really starting to pay off as our hard
work with technology companies, handset manufacturers, major entertainment
companies and operators, combined with our critical work on the JSR 184
standard, comes to fruition. Superscape is in a very strong first-to-market

hlyeo98, that was good timing eh! There's loads going on now and the news flow will now be relentless. IC will probably call them a sell tomorrow morning but they did say buy antisoma a couple of weeks ago and they generally talk cr*p. Do the maths, look at the killick note above and combine with the revenues per game. 10 million phones by January and that's conservative, each with a minimum of 1 game, chip royalties, development royalties etc and then look at the estimate for mass market penetration of 100 million swerved phones, this is what will sell 3G. american distributor, Nokia and Vodafone on the way, Killick know that for sure. IC wil say this company is not worth 40m, I agree, it could be worth many multiples, bag some now as they could be about to rcokect and hold for a couple of years, then give up the day job!!!!!
